During that time, we also purchased four other violas for my daughters and me, both of whom were learning Violas like this one have been used significantly more than other violas, and have stood up well to It is bright and loud to a degree that, even though it does not have the richest tone, it is very light, which is why It is extremely easy to play when paired with steel strings. Everything from the pegs to the fingerboard to the body has been amazing. It was decided to swap the chinrest and tailpiece with the other viola because they complemented the instruments more. Apparently, I have changed strings and bridge more than once, and I have shortened the bridge so that the strings are closer to the finger board and spaced out farther. However, it came out of the box usually well-setup, and it While shipping, you should not expect that the instrument will be tuned or the bridge will be installed. After a string instrument is shipped, you will need to install the bridge and tune the strings. A nice tuner, such as a Snark ST-31, is a must A couple of dollars less than $15 is $2. Additionally, you'll want to buy some Peg Drops to prevent the tuning pegs from sliding. It's best to wait for the price to drop before making a purchase. Right now, the 13-inch size is discounted to $140, and the 13" size was purchased for about $80 in 2011.
Due to the fact that I already own some excellent instruments, I am very familiar with the finer points of bowed instruments in general, but I would not consider myself an expert nor a luthier in any way. A viola that I specifically purchased on a whim for my wife, who has had several shoulder surgeries and sold her beautiful full-size viola for something lighter and smaller, but still missed playing a viola to play some orchestra parts. It had caught my eye that a few students were using these types of instruments, so I decided to order her one. There's no bridge on it, so you'll need to fit it up and tune it yourself or have a teacher play it for you. There are only a few downsides to this method of shipping, including the possibility that the sound post may fall and need to be manually set by someone with the right tool and All I had to do was set the bridge and tune to pitch, which took about five minutes. I was pleased with the quality of the bow, which was a student level bow. This instrument can blend well in a chamber choir, since its warm, pleasant tone can easily blend as one of the instruments. It had a medium action, good play response, and good playability. My rating is 4 Stars due to the quality of the purchase.
My viola arrived today, and within 30 seconds of opening the box and taking it out of its case, I had to send it back because the bridge I took out of the case was missing! Upon looking at the product details, it is clearly stated that a BRIDGE is included. All through the case and the delivery box I could not find a bridge. As soon as I received it, I returned it. What on earth is the point of transmitting a viola with none?.
I love the way the strings reverberate as opposed to dying out like most cheap instruments do. It could be done better in terms of building craftsmanship.
The quality of the product disappointed me.
Although the instrument appears to be high quality, I was very dissatisfied That's exactly what I'm going to do.
There was a break in the bow.
The book is a hit with my niece and I bought it for her. The teacher of my niece says that the instrument she was gifted is a quality instrument that will help her fulfill her educational goals. She attends a school for gifted children in Atlanta, and she was recently accepted into Dr. Ben Carson's Science Academy at Morehouse College of Medicine. Amazon has proven to be a valuable resource when it comes to finding quality products at very affordable prices. I was a little hesitant about ordering online, but now I'm a believer.
