Questions & Answers
The answer is no. The jazz mouthpiece may sound better if you do have one. Besides concert, marching, county, honor, and jazz bands, my son plays in those as well. These are the pieces he likes to use for jazz. The mouthpiece is the same as on a bari sax.

An analysis of something so personal as reed selection should not be used to decide whether to purchase wood or not. Having played for 20 years, I know how it is. The last time I switched up my setup for my Bari, my setup was ineffective. Previously, I was using reeds from another brand that weren't cutting it when I switched to an open tip metal mouthpiece. In the beginning, I didn't like the sound of Vandoren Java at all. That's why I went with the ZZs. It wasn't a big deal. When I got the box, there was only one bad reed in it. That is a really good ratio of good to bad reeds out of 5. There is one word of warning, however. It is important to remember that everyone I may not be able to help you if you are not the same as me. It is not enough to choose one type of reed just because someone else says they are the best! Try more than one manufacturer, type, and strength before you decide which is best for you.
I buy reeds for all of my son's saxophones a lot, so we will constantly be buying replacements. At a time, we order a different kind of box, depending on the size and strength. Last month, he performed with the Latin Jazz Ensemble at the Midway Clinic in Chicago, where plastic reed samples were given to him. It seems like he enjoys them a lot! It would be great if we could also locate them through Amazon.
As a tenor player, I had always played on ZZ reeds, so I decided to continue using them as a baritone player. Even though I play with other reeds now, these are still my favorite due to their great sound and vibrancy.
They are his favorite reeds, according to my son. Compared to the previous reeds we bought him, this is literally a leap in sound quality. Playing the saxophone is something he has always loved, but now he loves it even more. That would be great if it were Despite being estimated to arrive long before and exactly as described, the product arrived on time. This is a great set for anyone who plays.
It is hard to describe how I feel. Your blow is very strong. Noise is made when they are together.
A great piece for the baritone sax. It takes a lot of practice to be in marching band. I plan on buying more of these in the future. They are a huge improvement over the standard vandorens or Ricos, that I have always played before. The Amazon price is also much lower than those offered by local retailers.
I bought them for my college jazz band, and they are superb! I can use them to make my saxophone sound richer in jazz.
