Questions & Answers

Is this ligature suitable to use on a vandoren 6mm jumbo or a Meyer 6mm HR? Can you tell me what the sound sounds like? Can you tell me what the fit looks like?

The answer is yes, I think. The one I use is on a Vandoren optimum and Phil Barone vintage machine. Compared to the traditional metal two screw or rovner leather, I find it more alive.

What size is the metal mouthpiece for the Tenor Otto Link?

The mouthpiece in this case is for a hard rubber Vandoren. The mouthpice fits a plastic mouth. At Rovner's sizes section, you can see what size fits metal mouthpices.

Is the ligature the only part of the cap or does the free cap follow?

There was a cap attached to mine

The ligature will work with an otto link rubber mouth piece, right?

Since owning Otto Link's metal lig with supplied metal, I have owned the I enjoyed it a lot. At the moment, I'm more interested in hard rubber. Playing sets for long periods of time are hard on metal, even though I play on a hard rubber for up to eight hours at a time. Hard rubber mouthpieces are the best choice for this Platinum item. Saxophones are meant to be played with good intentions. The secret to a long set lies in this. Reed's blood tasted so good that I played till it tasted like death. The thing you need to try is this!

Selected User Reviews For Rovner P-2R Platinum Tenor Sax Ligature

Rovner has cut the cost and quality of Platinum? The first Rovner Platinum ligature I owned was gifted to me as part of a trade deal, and I liked so much I bought a Platinum P-ligature It was about six months ago that I bought a rubber tenor mouthpiece from 2R
4/5

My second Platinum P-card arrived soon after It has been a few weeks since I reviewed 2R (the one I am reviewing here). truly loved my first two Platinums. 1) The fact that they were so simple to use, even in low lighting 2) the way they held any reed secure and 3) how flexible they were, even when modified to fit changes in bar chamber After that I ordered this one -- This is my third Rovner Platinum and my My experience is that the "girdle" (the part that goes around the barrel) is slightly out of round and that reeds tend to point in one direction. I find this very annoying because it takes time to adjust the reed and the time I save using one screw lig is wasted. However, I haven't tried to bend or fiddle with the girdle yet, and for this kind of money I think there shouldn't be any need for it. Furthermore, I observed a change in the appearance It appears that the two bars that the light screw is attached to are no longer brass but rather In this case, the cosmetic change isn't a dealbreaker, but it occurs at the same time as the table girdle is crooked and the reeds are placed too far to the side. Is it just a coincidence that this happened when So to speak, it was a matter of luck Can Rovner cut marketing costs and quality at the same time? I am not sure. For the Platinum, I gave it a C The four stars is a generous rating, as I dislike to shut down a product on the basis of one negative experience. My personal opinion will make me think twice before purchasing Whenever I buy one, it will be from a store where I can get a look at the box instead of on the internet. This is a pricey light fixture, and there are other tried and true options on the market at this point in time, such as the Francois Louis Ultimate.

I find this to be perfect for my setup use synthetic Legere reeds, which don't stick to the mouthpiece table the way cane reeds do, so having a well fitting ligature is imperative to my set-up
5/5

There is a Morgan HR jazz mouthpiece running a little narrower than some of the others. My two screw metal ligature was the only one with the ringing tone I had tried with it. I also tried two other Rovners. In this case, there was just a little bit of looseness in the metal ligature. Designed to deliver the best of both worlds, the Rovner Platinum delivers. The ligature has a ringing tone that you'd expect from a metal ligature, but with the secure fit you'd expect from.

I love you, There was such a difference that I could not believe it
5/5

There are a lot of great mouthpieces that I use. My favorite was the second one, which was a good ligature. The technology for sound transmission has led to a whole new level of creativity.

Metal can only be destroyed by hard rubber
5/5

The holiday season is the time when I play the big band boom box. The weather is cold outside. I was worn out after only an hour with Berg Larson on alto, my intonation suffered, and I was unable to concentrate on the task. I have received this My horn is the same as Reed's, but I have hard rubber tied to it, so I play seven to eight hours. There are changing buckets at the Salvation Army several times during my time It's the HR mouthpiece and Rovner that enable me to do all these things. I like to think of this as Alto Kipfer, Tom.

The Rovner Platinum award is given to the It was the need for a ligature that firmly holds the reed that got me looking for a new one
4/5

A metal ligature is also required for my needs in order to avoid an airy sound. I was not expecting the ligature to hold the reed in place so well. A ligature is tight enough that you cannot move the reed once it is secured. It is also possible for me to achieve a clear tone without an airy quality. In addition, the mouthpiece's response is significantly improved compared with The Platinum seems to speak with greater ease in the lower notes. In contrast to stock ligatures that flatten pitch, intonation with these is better. There aren't many options for flexibility or brilliance since part of the design of the Platinum is to be dark. In addition to this, the sound has a slight reverberation and ring. The operation of a single screw is also more precise than that of a These improvements are what I would recommend as improvements for those who are seeking this ligature. In addition to my long shank Selmer Soloist F facing, I have Vandoren V16 #2 for my.

I got a high G rating because of you
5/5

Playing the tenor sax in my band is a Cannonball instrument. My name is Justin and I just started studying The reason I bought this ligature was because I was having trouble making notes on the upper staff. During my instructor's class, the adjusting screw was turned up so the screw is facing the You can see the picture! I was able to adjust my embouchure while doing so. I am very pleased with the quality and speed of.
