There is too much string and not enough weight at the end of the string. Trying to shake my instrument to make it come through almost damaged it. I've never been able to easily pass through it, particularly when wet, so I have to clean it regularly. As if it were a shoelace. Once I had gotten it through, and went through a wash, there was no weighted end to be found! There is still a lot of grime on it after one cleaning and it needs to be cleaned. I think it does an excellent job for such a large swab. It's nice to have the neck swab and mouthpiece brush to help remove plaque from your mouth. In any case, the swabs continue to make the entire kit well worth it. While it is a bit gaudy, it is a really good choice.
The cleaning kit I bought was excellent as a whole, and I am quite satisfied with its contents. I like how easy it is to use and how well it works. It is still necessary to purchase pad dryers to keep the pads clean and dry, however this method works great for getting moisture out of the mouthpiece, neck, and body of the sax.
In accordance with its advertised description, this product is useless. There is no room for it in an Eastman 52 Street tenor, which has an average body size. I liked the quality and color of the swabs. I thought the extra items were useless and of low quality, cheaply made materials (throw them away). My intention is to return this product in a timely manner. This is not a good buy if you want to keep your instrument clean.
