For my daughter, a beginner violinist. They try other light refills, which are numerous and aren't worth the hassle. All she needs is this cleaner and smoother hidersine, never a residue.
This is the rosin I used from fifth grade to high school in the 1970s. At the age of 55, I've recently resumed playing, which has eliminated the occasional screech and scratch noises for me. In my opinion, the best.
This rosin turned out to be sticky. I'm using synthetic core strings from Infelds. I'm not sure if that's the case, but this rosin doesn't seem to like my strings. I had hoped for more for the price. Steel strings might be a better fit. I'll keep using the lighter version of their rosin, but this one is on its way to the landfill. Sorry, Hidersine; I enjoy your products, but this one is not for me.
He was absolutely correct. From music camp at 105 degrees Fahrenheit and low humidity to 100 degrees Fahrenheit and high humidity, it works and applies beautifully.
It really works. This is an excellent product.
Good.
This rosin is a favorite of my wife's for her violin bow. For the past 16 years of violin playing, she has only used rosin. It's the best and gives your bow a silky smooth tone.
I found it a little scratchy, so I'll stick with Jade for the time being.
