Questions & Answers

Temperatures that are soft versus those that are cold. What's the difference?

Rosain comes in a soft form, similar to a If the temperature is cold, it hardens when it's warmer, it softens. When the bow is hard (cold), applying the compound can be very difficult. Keeping it warm is essential You might want to keep it in your pocket until you need to use it during rehearsals or performances. As long as it is not too cold in the air and leaves the sun, the water will warm up.

Thank you for your inquiry, but I am unable to understand the product description. It comes in Soft Grade or Hard Grade as well as Bass Duo Does that mean that I get a PAC when you buy it? Is it possible to get a hard copy of the book? Thank you. ?

My experience with this product was the same as when I bought it, but I ended up receiving a "soft" grade instead. To make sure I was okay with using soft or hard velvet, I asked my instructor. My memory doesn't recall having a chance to choose the grade, which is why the description makes it seem as if you have a choice.

The best Double Bass rosin on the market It is a comparison of Samuel Kolstein's Bass Rosin with Pop's Bass Rosin, which is recommended by a classically trained bass player
5/5

It is not because Kolstein's is better, it is because in my experience both are very good. While Pop's rosin is great and one of the standard brands for double bass players, I have always preferred Kolstein's brand (and not because I owned a bass and bow from Sam Kolstein for years - Compared with Pop it performs just a bit better). It's just too soft with Pop's and Kolstein is just the right consistency to ensure that you get a good grip without being too sticky, runny etc. especially when the weather is warm. Like Pop's, it does not become too hard or crack as quickly in colder weather. When someone has too much rosin on their bow, you can always tell by the sound. With Kolstein, even if you use a little more than you need, it will not glob up on the bow hair and create that sort of "gravely" sound behind the note. The wax gives an excellent grip, but at the same time the bow hair has a natural feel and sound (I also always keep a toothbrush handy to brush excess rosin out of the hairs when brushing). Due to its softness, Pop's bow is easily overused by less experienced players and can become too saturated with rosin and end up having too much rosin build up on the bow hair, which negatively affects sound. It is clear from the posted images that there is a much lower quantity of Kolstein brand than What's the reason? The truth is, you don't need a lot of rosin if your bow hair is of good quality. (If you use AAA level Moroccan horse hair in either salt and pepper or black, you will If you use this same quality, but in white, then you do not need as much as you would use for salt-pepper or black, since the hair is naturally not as coarse. When you use this type of hair you will hear a difference in the bow sound even before any rosin has been used. Confirm this with your bow repairer or luthier. Using synthetic bow hair is never a good idea. When synthetic hair is combined with rosin, the tone will be poor. As well, the Kolstein rosin itself is further protected from sticking to the side by a rubber sleeve (see images), which is designed to keep the rosin itself in place within the golden cardboard casing, and avoid it from sticking to the sides. My method is to roll all the rubber down just enough to draw the bow several times across it, let the rubber go, and everything stays nice and in In the old days, it was enclosed in a cardboard box that you had to remove before you could use it. That was a huge error! It is common to find rosin melting out of its paper cup holder and sticking to the plastic cup once it gets out. Most of the time, it will crack rather than melt. It would be wise to order Kolstein's All-in-One from Amazon When you use sparingly on good bow hair, you will be covered for over a year with the weather grade (this is the ultra as well). I wish you all the best with your games!.

Does anyone else in the room play the violin? According to a YT tip, I am using this for a bit of extra grip when playing violin
5/5

Then I rub it directly on my G and D strings, just enough to get some extra grip on the thicker strings rather than using it on my bow. Strings on the lower section of a violin create a beautiful, resonant, and projecting sound not characteristic of its I can hear the pitch clearly, and the communication is instant. This is awesome. In addition, it doesn't affect the violin rosin badly to mix onto my bow hair nor does it affect the bow's play on the upper strings in any way!.

I have been playing bass for over 50 years now, and this rosin is by far the best I have ever used! The coating does not wear off over time, it is easy to apply, and it has excellent grip
5/5

Over the years, I have played String Bass for almost 50 years, so I've experienced, tried, and used a variety of Rosins. It is even possible to find Rosins that are no longer manufactured. I have tried a lot of rosins. Kolstein rosin is the best by far. 1.

Over time, the consistency of the Rosin remains constant as opposed to other Rosins since they "glaze". **Repeat **Repeat ** The strings grip aggressively thanks to its great gripping power. The way you do that is fantastic. In paragraph 3 Despite its excellent tone, it has a very smooth sound. Among rosins there are a variety of differences. **4 **5 **6 The process of rosining up your bow doesn't take long. Having to warm up other rosins by many strokes is necessary. It applies easily to the bow when using Kolstein rosin. In this paragraph The bass does not generate much dust, so it is good for allergic individuals and is easy to maintain. One thing to note is that not all Rosins are Make sure the rosin on the bow is up to snuff before switching to Kolstein or another type of As far as bass dealers go, Kolstein Music has been the most reputable and reliable company in the country. We enjoy visiting their store to see their vintage and new basses, and it is a real treat to see what they have to offer. Since 2006, they have developed a number of products, from strings to cases to bridges, and they are all of excellent quality and In addition to recommending the rosin to my students, I sometimes give it to them myself. An old cake of very used rosin and my 1930 Ferratti Italian bass, Dolling German bow, Kolstein protective bib for a bass, and a 1930s Italian ferratti bass. As well as this bass, I got it from Barrie Kolstein. You can go to www. mywebsite. com to see my web site. I am corarow. I am composing.

The rosin is sticky and does not contain powder
5/5

Rosin for bass guitar is great. Besides Pop's, Nyman, and Kolstein, I have tried several other stores as well. In my opinion, Pop's and Kolstein are the best. Kolstein is hard and powdery Pop's (when fresh) is the most sticky. A lot of powder is missing from Kolstein, which is extremely sticky. In their formulation, there is something special. The Kolstein recipe for rosin probably includes wax to prevent dust from accumulating. Kolstein also has the advantage of lasting for much longer on the shelf than most other products. It will be dry in less than 2 years for Pop's. It is not uncommon for people to only use Pop's for a few months before tossing My new favorite restaurant is Kolstein's, but I also like Pop's too. Even so, I still can't make up my mind as to which is my favorite. I will try both and then decide.
