It is typically used for violins and violas. I believe there is one for cellos too. The one I have is great!

The world's a better place (and string cleaning is easier) with this! My favorite thing about this little gadget is how it I'm new to the violin, so I didn't know resin was clogging up my strings and not improving my tone at all

Now you have to have it! It is extremely easy to use and effectively cleans not just the strings, but also the fingerboard! I can easily store it in my case, so I always have it available

The String Cleaner is something that I use every single day for my violin. I no longer have to deal with dirty, sticky microfiber cloths stuffed in the corner of my case. I can clean the strings and fingerboard quickly and gently. I've heard great things about this product from my violin students too. I highly recommend this book!.
