Questions & Answers

Can this violin be fitted with this bow?

The circle size of the f holes determines how large they must be. A Dampits does not fit on a full size violin with even the smallest f hole. A minimum of 8 mm must be used for the circle size.

This dampit has a diameter of how much? My aim is to find out the diameter of the end plug, which is the largest part that inserts inside the instrument. ?

Although I can't actually measure it, I would estimate the diameter at less than one inch Approximately half an inch in diameter.

Do you think I need one of these if I live in Florida?

It's not in Florida that I live. Since I have not lived there for a long time, I do not know its humidity level year round. In the past, I usually went to Tampa, Melbourne, Orlando, and West Palm Beach all the time and every time I went there was a lot of humidity. It seems silly to me to use a Dampit if the atmosphere is at least 50% humid throughout the year. You might also have to consider where you keep your violin for most of the day. If it's in a case or out in the open (in a room) it'll be less likely to get damaged. It is usually no problem for me to leave my violin open, and if I put the violin in a case, I will always put the dampit in first.

I need one for each f-hole in the package, so I'm wondering if it's just one in the package. ?

In the package, there is only one humidifier. There seems to be enough there. If only one of them is used in the right hand, it will still work There can never be a contact with the soundpost through this hole.

Everything seems to be working fine
3/5

Keeps the cello in tune thanks to its design. There isn't a great deal of customer service. Could not get the washer used to keep the device from falling into the cello's belly. I would not recommend this product due to the price and lack of customer service. The reviews on Amazon also won't let me express my opinion, so I am not certain if they are accurate or true. The outcome of this one will depend on whether they allow it to continue.

Humidifier that runs at an average capacity
3/5

As the title states, there is nothing more to say! Despite its price, an instrument humidifier of this caliber is average. As stated in the product description, it does not include all the parts mentioned therefore, it is virtually impossible to install it inside a violin, viola, cello, or mandolin without the parts falling inside. In the case where all parts were included, I may have given it a higher score, but it doesn't have them. The reason for the three stars is partly due to that. The recommendation is not to do it!.

The work is good
5/5

As I have used one of these for a long time and was satisfied with it, I got this for her violin. A strange thing about it, though, is that it seems to be working. I have a full size violin and my daughter has a full size violin as well. Both dampits (old and new) fit nicely in my violin but are quite tight in my daughter's.

necessary in dry climates (like New England in Maintaining the humidity of a violin is critical if it is to remain intact

The instrument case and the room where the instruments are usually stored and played should also contain an accurate humidity gauge that can be relied upon.

I am thrilled! My winters can be quite dry in Wyoming because of its desert climate
5/5

I used this product to restore the humidity to my violin, and it really works. Various methods have been tried, but this one actually got the bloody hydrometer back to normal, according to my case.

This one's been around for a while
5/5

You can use these to keep the interior of your instrument humid. My home is in a very dry area of the country, so I have looked at both room and instrument humidifiers to ensure my instruments stay Because I still haven't found the right room humidifier and other instrument humidifiers are a bit fussy or weird, I went with Dampit once more. My 30 years of Dampit usage has stood the test of time. They are effective, affordable, and need to be checked and maintained, but they will last a very long time if they are the right water and used properly.

Is exactly how it should be
5/5

Is exactly how it should be. The only way I can keep my violin humid enough to tune is with this device. Easy to use, doesn't interfere with the instrument, and it keeps the humidity level high.
