Questions & Answers
It's a one-of-a-kind piece of dreck.
That doesn't appear to be a genuine dampit to me. The enclosed humidity chart appears to be different, and the pattern of holes on the device for releasing humidity should extend further to the opposite end. I have four genuine dampits, but this one appears to be unique.

I use this Dampit in my 4/4 cello all winter, and when I wet it every few days, it does an excellent job of keeping the humidity in the cello case at% The year before, I bought a knockoff Dampit from a music store, and the end cap fell off inside the cello, causing the wet sponge to touch the wood, which was not only inconvenient but also dangerous. a brief narrative: Never again will I buy a Dampit knockoff! Instead, this winter I will order another (real) Dampit so that I can use two at once and hopefully raise the humidity to 50 or 60%.
I purchased two and gave one a try. It's extremely narrow, with teeny-tiny holes. The interior "sponge" can only hold a small amount of water. Returned.
In the dry, icy north, this is a must.
It's fantastic!.
This cello dampit is exactly what it says it is, and it works wonders for keeping my cello hydrated during the long winter months.
Perfect.
In the cold, dry Wisconsin winter, this was exactly what I needed for my cello. Please keep an eye on my cello. It works. Excellent value for money.
