I did not have any issue with the chinrest

The hard shell is well finished. It has no problem fitting a chin rest into the case. I was worried about earlier reviews saying there was no room for one. Those who have chin rests that are higher may have an elevated chin.

My grandson received this as a gift. He likes how it looks and how it protects his violin well. This is definitely something I The chin rest of his case fits perfectly in it as well.

A good beginner violin case for general use

I'm in love with I use it to store my beginner violin, which is a sturdy case. It is really convenient to be able to carry it on my shoulder with the shoulder strap. It's true - there's a lot of extra stuff to hold on to when carrying a violin around.

Light weight and strength are two features to look for. A good value for the money. I am pleased. An orchestra class in middle school is recommended for a child.
