Although it's a snug fit, I think it will work. The 16-inch I have is a pretty good deal. The viola is a 5 inch instrument.

The shoulder rest has storage, does it not?

A foldable shoulder rest can be stored next to the scroll if it is built in storage. Otherwise, no storage is available for the shoulder rest. Some of my students use the zipper on top for their shoulder rests, as there is also a music port. This does not seem to work to well however.

Because my original protective oblong case, in which my viola came, was so heavy and had no options for a carry case, I said I would buy this for how lightweight it would be. As a violinist, I recently acquired a viola to use both for teaching and for fun, so this case is ideal for storing it and transporting it to and from work on a few occasions each The case is definitely not suited to be used as a daily case for your instrument, especially if you plan to take it to and from school every day on a bus. Dropping it or putting it in the weather is not going to be enough protection for it. I am glad I was able to find an inexpensive lightweight case for my situation, although it is not the case most people would buy.

I can store my viola in it, and it works fine

Even though I graduated from high school 45 years ago, I still play the viola I played then. A few years ago, the old instrument case just died, and it's been leaned against the wall with the other instruments in the living room since then. To the best of my knowledge, this case seems to be the perfect solution for myself in terms of storage. I think it fits well, seems sufficiently protective, and is not very heavy. It would probably not be a good option to carry this case around every day as I would worry about its (I have several hard shell cases and a Bam soft case for my fiddle that are much more protective but also cost much.

The item fits easily into the space I have, and I am able to lift it up I had exactly what I wanted in this case

Having the viola around all the time makes the case heavy and inconvenient, so I didn't want it to be heavy. With ease, it fits into the space I have and I am able to lift it up and put it on a I don't have to worry about my cats damaging my viola and I can hold two bows very well. Exactly what I ordered and shipped fast and well packaged. The product is good. I would buy it.

For the price, this is a decent case, however, it is of small size

This is a basic item, but it is decent for the price. It is one of those extremely light cases, however, so if handled carefully, it should work fine. There is one complaint the case is a bit too small for the viola. A viola of some size but not a vielle fit in it. In the event that you have a full size viola, this one might not be for you. The kit is a good choice for a student who wishes to learn to play the viola.

I really like this case

This is a great buy! I have never seen a Viola case of this quality for such a good price. A daughter of mine plays an instrument we already own in the high school orchestra, so she needed a case to store it. Initially I was hesitant about how well the case would fit, but it was absolutely perfect. The case is lightweight and well built, with plenty of padding to protect my This is carried by my daughter to and from school every week, and it has held up quite well so far. This is certainly a case I would recommend.

It is the perfect replacement

Several years after my daughter got her viola from her relative, the case tore, and I decided I would replace it with this case because it fell apart after a year of use. For not only securing her instrument, but also keeping it in place, she has been using it this semester.
