Questions & Answers

What is the reason for the price difference between the black and white?

It is an interesting question, and I am sure you are not the only one who has wondered about it. A big local guitar store had a BLACK TC poly tuner on sale at the time I purchased it, but all around - the tuner is great! In the link he posted in response to this very same question, DJ alluded to the one he mentioned. A sale price of $38 is no big deal for me. It would have been possible to get the white for the same price. That was 2 years ago, and prices have gone up and down since. During the last few years, the prices have remained the same, other than "sales" on or off. There are times when the sales are just a straight 15% off, so if that were the case, I would have paid a few dollars more. I was dumb luckier and I got another $4 off plus or minus. While I realize this question was asked 3 years ago, I am sure many people are asking the same thing today (Almost) double the price because of the black color? It was for the metallic paint as opposed to black on my black car, that it cost more. There is no doubt that they have non-public information I can get metallic on my vehicle at no extra cost. *br>"Black is Black" (Los Bravos - .

What if I want to use this with an electric guitar?

Yes, I do!

Do you think this will work with ?

You should be able to use it as long as you can clip it on and it can take a reading!

Customer service is even worse (terrible)
3/5

is by far the most disappointing of the three. As a result of the In a matter of days after receiving it, the item fell apart. Attached to the clip is a screw and nut that, at some point, cracked and fell apart. It was only when I went to use it that I discovered this. The screw fell out of the clip as I was attaching it. I don't know when the nut fell out, but by the time I realized it had gone missing (probably sucked up by the vacuum cleaner), it had become lost. As you can see below, this insult happened when I contacted Music Tribe technical support. When they replied a week and a half later, they told me I had to pay for replacement parts (I am including our email exchange below for your review). Therefore, that tells me that they are either assuming that I am lying, or that they believe that using the device as intended is damaging to it! It would be absurd if the mechanic blamed you for the screw that fell out of your new brake job. As a side note, the components themselves cost The shipping charge is $2, and the price is $64 with shipping. The total amount is $3 plus 50 cents. I'll tell you how it feels! This tuner was rated 2 stars (instead of 1) because, fully truthfully, it seems to work fine without the clip, but it is basically useless without it. The clip is kind of what sets this tuner apart from others in its class. The tuner itself works OK (although IMO it is not worth the 90 bucks), but the clip mechanics aren't built well, and the quality control is terrible (it doesn't even swivel after a while, and then And last but not least, customer support! Taken together, this means do not buy this tuner or anything else supported by Music Tribe. Having used all three, I recommend KLIQ Uber Tuner then You could buy three of them (or four the paperweight. I would like to know how the email exchange goes Hey Dennis! We are fortunate to have the screw and nut you need in stock here at MTD Parts. Would you mind sending me a good shipping address so that I can reply with a quote for the part and Your help is much appreciated! This thing was broken on me before I even had it a week. This would never pass the quality control test, wouldn't it? It appears to be free, so I am assuming it is. Dennis, I just spoke to a tech support agent, and he said that unfortunately this is considered damage and does not qualify for coverage. If I've caused you any inconvenience, I apologize. Let us know if you wish to confirm this quotation as an order by replying to this email and letting me know your best phone number which I can reach you at, as well as the three best days and times for me to call you, so we can make the Thanks a lot!.

Invest in a good tuner for your guitar if you have one
5/5

Having noticed that the "other" tuners don't pick up the low e on the guitar unless they are clipped, I'd like to ask why this is. Tuners intended for use with a telephone are used to tune someone's guitar on the go. I have some other clip tuners which seem to change the indications depending on how sustain is applied to As a result, I made a decision to close the note at the initial strike. Have been playing with the TC polytune for a while. This tuner is more accurate than the onboard Taylor Academy 10e tuner, but it makes the most difference when attached to a 814ce. I used the strobe feature on the guitar, and the guitar reverberated according to its design. To me, if you have a good guitar, it will help, but if it is a great guitar, it will sing with the right In regards to the power button, it's easy to reach and the device will do an automatic shutoff after a few minutes or so. Batteries in the form of coins are inconvenient to keep around the There is less fidgeting when the mode changes automatically. heard (based on the sounds of my guitars).

A quick and easy method that is accurate as well as easy Polytune was used on my Levin acoustic guitar with steel strings
5/5

With the instrument's very bright display, it is easy to use as it "catches" a note and holds it steady as you tune, and it lets you know if some of the strings need some attention if you strum them. If it's clipped to the back of the tuning head, or to the front of it, the display adjusts so it remains upright The back of the car is more convenient to me. It's easier to tune the note in with the cheaper Fishman FT2 tuner, which is just as accurate, but the display isn't as bright and the tuning is more fiddly. Previously I had to pay about $90 for the Polytune black version of the game. So when the price dropped, I took advantage of I find it to be of good quality and is really easy It has been used most days since I purchased it four months ago and I have not needed to replace the battery during that time. I notice that occasionally it fails to catch the note and shows the previously tuned string, and sometimes I see it in open strumming when trying to tune just one All the strings have to be drenched and the issue will be resolved. Other than that, the clip-art app is reliable, easy to use, and appears to be one of the best clips-art apps ever Tuners operate on a different frequency. There are 34 divisions/dots per tone—there seems to be 34 whole tones in this diagram -- Taking the size of a dot and going from one to the next costs six It is probably accurate plus or minus 2 cents, when all the dots are green, so I think that's what it will be when it is tuned in. It also has a strobe mode, which is said to be more precise, but I find it too fiddly There is only one improvement I would suggest - a custom setting to adjust the intonation of a single string, as the B string sometimes needs to be slightly flattened. In my experience only, I have used the product at home, so I can't comment on how well it does in a noisy environment.

My tuner is the only one I use (I have a bunch) and I have given the others to my kids
5/5

The first thing I have to say is that I can tune a guitar by ear, but a good tuner makes the process In order to stay in front of an audience (which matters when they are waiting), I use a two-stage When I hear something weird, I strum all the strings and the tuner identifies the problem strings, and then I use the "single string" mode to fix them. Normally, I can fix the tuning of a fixed bridge guitar in less than 10 seconds with the sound turned off. While the audience at a coffee house might tolerate a few intervals as you tell a story, that does not work for larger gigs. It is great to have a roadie hand me a tuned guitar, but I don't always have that option. As an alternative to a roadie, I have found this method works very well. There's an important warning wired headphones can be difficult to use when the stage is noisy, but I usually have a wired- headphones when I use wired headphones The tuner is now in use. My favorite thing about these devices is their tiny size.
