Questions & Answers

Is 440 hz the only frequency you can tune to? In that case, what are the other options?

What is the efficacy of the true buffer with a preamp built in to the board?

There is no difference between the instrument plugged into the tuner and the buffer onboard. It is not necessary to use a buffer for a bass with onboard active electronics, but it won't hurt to have one.

Is it possible to perform open tunings with this?

In short, yes. You can tune it to just about anything you want. It's one of the best tuners!

What if I want to tune with it while playing with my looper? When you activate the tuner, will it cut the signal as it does on ?

What you set up will determine whether or not it works. Dip switches are set to always be on internally so that it is mute it when I am adjusting tuning by pressing the button on the remote. It is generally recommended that you put your tuner at the beginning of In addition to the fact that it is the best place for a buffer and a tuner, it also avoids that looping will affect it

The Stomp Box Tuner is a handy instrument
5/5

As I weighed the pros and cons of this and the comparable Boss TU-310, I ended up choosing this one A total of 3 units. They both have good reviews, and they both cost the same. In the end, I selected this kit because of its newer design and fact that it allows conventional and strobe In the latter case, I was attracted to it because I have used a Peterson Stroboscope We have been using strobe tuners for many years, and we really enjoy that Stomping the ground was the thing I was looking for It was really helpful to have the box tuner so I could do a quick tune-up when I was listening to it A clip-up works better than a clip-on Tuners can only operate with a permit. In addition to playing electric bass, I also play synthesizer. In my experience, the conventional tuning mode on this Polytune 3 pedal worked just fine for me, and I have not even tried the strobe feature yet. The exercise also revealed that my jazz bass needs to be intonated a bit better As I played various notes up and down the fretboard, I noticed that the chord was tuning out. Therefore, you should not need to use a micro-credit system Strobe style display tuned to a very precise degree. A "conventional" tuning display is a needle that appears to the left or right of center when tuning is flat or sharp, and dead center when tuning is correct. Some tuners have arrowheads at each side of center that illuminate when the tuner is not quite in As a consequence, the needle in this unit changes color according to the note, displaying as red or green on the note that is flat or sharp, and it is very quick to use it. I just tweek it to make it green with each string on my bass. The tuner is chromatic, which means that it listens for the incoming note and displays the note it thinks it I don't have any problems with that. In order to understand the standard 4-level system, it is only necessary to know that In string bass tuning, E A D G is used. Some tuners are portable (not stomp box type), such as the Boss TU-303 It would be handy to have a stompbox that had presets to tune a guitar or bass, but those presets are less common on stompboxes. Putting the Polytune 3 in and out of tuning mode is accessed by a "soft" pushbutton. I mean "soft" in the sense that there is no mechanical component Each time the sawtich is operated, a chunk is produced. A mute is applied to the output when the unit is tuning. As soon as the tuning process is complete (by pressing the switch a second time), the output will be A DIP switch on the internal panel allows selection of three modes. Bypass switching is the first mode that allows you to turn the tuner on and off in a true manner. When the tuner is not tuning, there is a direct connection between the input jack and As for the second mode, it is referred to as "buffered bypass," which means that the incoming signal is passed through a buffer amplifier when it's not tuned. useful in a number of situations, especially if long cables are involved. For both of these first two modes, the tuning display does not illuminate when the tuner is operating but So, you can immediately tell whether you are muted or not by checking whether the tuning display is lit or not. This third mode is also buffered but the tuning indicator remains active all the time. In theory, this means you can see how your tuning is This unit has been used only in the second mode (with buffered bypass, display only evident when tuning) because that is what I have found to be most useful. I am likely to never use many of the features on the website. The factory setting, for example, is A=440 Hz, but it is possible to change this setting. A feature of the device is that it allows the user to play all notes on the instrument at once, whereafter it claims to be able to decide which notes were wrong. For the bass, I do not see any benefit to using this type of tuning, and I've read that users do not believe that this mode is quite as accurate. The process of tuning 4 strings individually takes very little time, and I do it that way. My bass stays in tune very well, so minor adjustments are all it takes to deal with room temperature changes, etc. I don't have to spend much time doing this. All in all, I'm very happy with my choice of the PolyTune A show can be very easily tuned as it is very easy to use, has a readable display, and allows users to remain in tune throughout the performance. The competitive units out there (like Boss Tu- Similarly, the Korg Pitchblack 3 or 3i5) are also excellent, which could make the choice more difficult in this case. What I can say is that I think this will be well received by the public - It may be helpful to know that the unit was made.

This tuner is the best I have ever used! I have been playing guitar for about 17 years and I've used many tuners of different types and sizes over the years
5/5

This is the BEST and most ACCURATE tuner I've ever owned. The tuner is VERY EASY to use. I would choose this over any other brand. This device is very versatile- you can choose between true bypass or buffered (I use buffered), chromatic or polyphonic tuning modes (I always use strobe), and 9v battery or power supply power source, and even switch between multiple tuning and frequency settings. Besides using it on my pedalboard, I also use this tuner on my workbench. It tracks notes quickly, and the strobe mode for setting intonation is accurate enough. There is no noise when it is turned on or off since it has a soft touch switch. I really like the display. It is bright, easy to read, not crowded and the colors make it simple to see what is happening. This pedal even features a 9v pass through so another pedal can be powered. This is amazing. The purchase of a tuner and buffer in combination is cheaper. It is a tuner that I would recommend Tuners like this are the last ones you'll ever have to buy. For convenience, I might buy another one so I won't have to get it off my pedalboard when I need it to work at my workbench - There is nothing else like it. It's even on my to-do list to buy myself a Polytune Clip for my acoustic guitar. Plus, you get instructions that are easy to read and a sticker for free with this kit. I always enjoy bonuses, so I consider them a plus.

Features for Geeks plus Plug and Play simplicity
5/5

Guitar or bass tuner that plugs into any guitar or bass. Strum all strings simultaneously to discover those out of tune, or do it one at a time using a dial like the classic tuners of old. It allows you to either strum or pluck on the pedal (the pedal detects whether you strum or pluck)**For guitar geeks, it even allows you to play in strobe mode. An intonation checker that uses a sensitive strobe as a tuning mechanism. With the pedal, you'll be able to mute your rig for silent tuning whenever you want, or switch to the "always on mode" and receive constant tuning feedback and mute from your The switch lets you switch between Drop D tuning on the fly and other tunings. With a small switch on topside, the tuner can be set to handle drop tunings all the way up to B and capo tunings up to Is that true? I agree!.

It's been a while since I used a polyphonic tuning machine, and I really wanted something like the little grey Korg handheld tuner that I have
5/5

I'm glad I got out of my rut and decided to try out some of this new fangled stuff. It actually works and it works effectively. I had zero issues with the item once i got it to work, I just didn't read the instructions and didn't realize how it needed to be connected to work, which is actually a good thing that the battery doesn't die when it's I would not recommend anything else to someone who asks me what tuner to get, i say just get this one right here and don't.
