Questions & Answers

If tuning is performed, does the output become muted?

The tuner I use on my pedal board mutes the output when it is engaged to tune. Having it on true bypass while not tuned is also very advantageous. The tuner is not fancy, but it works great in live performances.

You should be able to see the screen in the dark. The back of the device is illuminated?

The answer is yes. Whenever the string is in tune, the entire backlit screen turns green (if the string is flat or sharp, it is blue). My problem is that I can't figure out how to change from chromatic to guitar tuning. While it works in chromatic mode, I feel that it would work better if it allowed you to select only EADGBE as the sampling frequency.

How much power does it take to tune an 8-string low stuff or a ?

My five string bass sounds great when tuned with this tool.

Can you tell me what the center button does?

A switch that toggles between on and off. No sound gets through to the amplifier when it is on and tuned. It is imperative that you turn the tuner off when you are playing. Your LED display does not light up while you play.

The pedal works great as a guide for ships landing
5/5

The tuning is perfect, which is all you could really ask for from a tuning pedal, and I really like the blue/green LCD display that tells you when you're tuned up. Besides the LCD, everyone else's eyes are going to melt due to the laser cannons above it. The blinding light irritates my eyes so much that I actually have to close my eyes in low light or at night. To cover your lights, I recommend getting a nice small piece of tape unless you want to guide lost sailors home from sea or your band cannot afford a proper laser show.

I was on the fence whether to buy the Polytune or Boss, but it turned out to be perfect
5/5

The two are similar in price at In the end, I decided to try the Donner out instead since I can always return it if it is not for me. The one I'm keeping will be mine. it against my Snark Super Tight and it performed very well. The interface is much easier to read than the other options I was considering (based on my opinion), and is about a third of the price. I am aware that other options are options I would likely never use, especially the IM-related ones. Using this pedal, you will be able to tune in an environment that is noisy It is really nice that when you tune it, it will not only show you the note, but it will glow red so you can tune it to the green note. The colors were just what I was tuning to Its true bypass is a bonus as well. Donner pedals just caught the attention of a Boss man.

It's solid, accurate and bright (is it too I have no doubt that this pedal is of high quality
5/5

You can easily operate the foot switch with a smooth, positive feel and without loud noises. Using this pedal as a mute feature for anything past the tuner is also handy since it is silent when not in use. This set is spot-on in terms of accuracy Tuner in Korg tune mode (Y - The back of the splitter has two sides In any case, I hope to use this for every gig or recording that I plan on taking on. The pedal has nice rubber pads on the bottom that keep the pedal from sliding when used on hard surfaces, but they are thin enough that Velcro or hooks-and-loops can be tied to them. - Velcro can be used to mount to a board without removing the rubber feet - Hole-and-loop protrudes sufficiently to mount to a board - Even though this appears to be a minor thing, in my opinion this is an absolutely crucial feature and I wish more manufacturers did it. made of metal which is super tough (no flexing) and the surface has a matte finish which reduces reflections and glare from bright lighting. Considering the functionality of this pedal, this seems like a small detail, but in reality it makes a big difference in real life and shows that Donner has thought of every aspect. Having observed that what appears on the outside matches what appears on the inside, I found the pedal to be very well designed. Though, as with many pedals, it doesn't come with a DC power supply. If you're reading pedal reviews, you probably already know that. You probably have a variety of workarounds as well. It's always my preference to use a battery clip snap connector (search and find The thickness of a penny is 1mm. This 5mm" piece is They're $3 each) or just chaining another DC power connector on my board's DC power supply, no big deal. This is confusing to me as to why some people complain about it As for powering a pedal, it isn't complicated or expensive. In fact, I appreciate that manufacturers keep prices low while leaving it up to the individual that uses the pedal to decide how to power it. I only found a potential downside in the LED's brightness, particularly the red, it can really blind you if you stare at it for too long. (The pics don't begin to depict it. awesome it has a lot of useful indicators that help you tune quickly, but the red LED is too bright in low light conditions. It's too low lighting for me to even read the display, I have to turn on the green LED first. When I don't need to see the LCD display screen, I can ignore it. With some tape, I could dim it so it is not so bright Obviously mine is an exception, but just the same, I thought of sharing it. However, this is a minor issue. It does nothing to diminish how awesome, truly awesome, this pedal is. My opinion is that it's worth every penny, it's WAY better constructed than other tuners in the same price range, and it performs at least as good as (if not significantly better than) other tuners that cost two or more times as much. I am not likely to regret this purchase, and even though I do not have pedal boards for each amp, I plan to get one for each one. It's a bargain at this price, and I think everyone should have one on or near their.

I was surprised by how good it was
5/5

I would strongly recommend it. As part of my son's first guitar rig, I purchased this tuner pedal. In light of the fact that I own several other Donner pedals, I decided to purchase this one. It took me a while to realize just how nice of a tuner pedal it was at such a low price- The pedal is very quick to respond with minimal delay-- second, it has a very good sound-- I just love it! I find this feature to be very handy. My only criticism is that it must be purchased with a separate power supply (it's a standard 9-carat cable The supply voltage should be between 12 and 24 volts). I am very impressed with this pedal with the exception of this one small issue.

You're getting a pretty good price
5/5

Bypass of a true nature. You will love this display if you are one of those people who requires a large display. It is mostly a clip-on microphone that I use I rely mostly on my tuner because I only have one pedal out front (a wah), but I rarely use it. The one I have cost me We regret to inform you that the price has increased Though, we might need a while to adapt to this. Comrade Chairman Joe B. , thanks for the kind words.

Inexpensive and very accurate
4/5

An inexpensive and exceptionally accurate tuning system. As soon as you press the tune button, the signal in your chain is muted. The tuner cannot be left on when you are playing if you like a tuner that allows you to keep it on. If you want to try a Boss or Behringer, do so. The Simple Bypass Tuner is quite good for a by-pass tuner, which is pretty accurate, well-built, and has a smaller footprint than anything we've ever seen before. Comparing this to several tuners, I found it to be highly accurate. In my previous post, I mentioned the two. A companion Intellitouch PT10 neck tuner is also available. There was no doubt that the Donner was as reliable as the others. In all seriousness, I can recommend this tuner without any problem.

The tuner is a great little device
5/5

It's the best tuner ever - I absolutely love it Five years ago, I was a 3-year-old We have used it as a string bassist and find that it tracks fast and functions As a reference (and to set intonation when setting up my rig), I have a very expensive Turbo Tuner, and though this tuner is not quite up there, it is still quite a solid little tuner. As I needed to pull together a mini-car, this was the best option It is well suited for use on a pedal board, as are the reviews. I think it's This is a beautiful site with a clean look. The LED screen is also pleasing to the eye since it changes from a lovely blue to an attractive green on tune up. Whatever the case, this tuner is AMAZING This time around, it's also a petite size, tracks well, (even on the low B string), and is visually pleasing. This is just so easy and This is a highly recommended book.
