Questions & Answers

Is it safe to use this product on a Fender jazz bass made in the United States?

Yes, it's a tad wide for a bass, but I'm using it to demonstrate a Yamaha acoustic guitar. It's a high-quality hanger that looks nice.

Is it possible to use this for a 34" 9? If so, do you recommend the low profile or standard profile for a 5lb bass guitar?

The weight and size are fine, and whether you want a low or standard profile is entirely up to you. The low-profile hanger reveals more of the guitar's front, and it's less likely to collide with dials or switches. The standard profile hooks come up in front of the guitar to keep it from tipping over, which we recommend in earthquake-prone areas.

Is this something that can be done with an electric drill? I'm suspicious because my tele is heavy. ?

This is what you need for an electric guitar, and it works great with my Les Paul (heavy guitar).br>String Swing CC151- LPN- FW Horizontal Low-Visibility FW Horizontal Low-Visibility Narrow Profile - Guitar Body Holder for a Flat Wall Mount - 1 Piece Unitbr>The one you're selling is quite wide (it's for an acoustic guitar, after all).

Is this something that could be used on a chandler lap steel? I'd like to put it up on the wall. ?

It'll hold it just fine if the dimensions match up, though I'd recommend screwing the bracket directly into a stud for an 8 lb lap steel. It's a fun display hanger that I highly recommend!

I bought this and installed it right away because it is very flexible in terms of hanging options, but it has a big visual flaw
3/5

When I hung my guitar on it, I immediately regretted it. I eventually took it down and didn't use it, so it'll probably end up in the trash. The problem I have with this is that it isn't visually appealing to me. You've hung a cool guitar on the wall to show it off. The design of this thing allows for a variety of angles and is also fairly secure and durable. However, the design is unattractive. The problem is that the next bar will run parallel to the previous one. What is the link between the body hangers and the neck hanger? The neck of your guitar does not obscure this bar. It doesn't matter that I tried every angle. Maybe if you hang it directly below the ceiling, but then it will look ridiculous and you won't be able to reach it. In the end, I decided on the Hang Em High two-piece hanging system. I can't change the angle without drilling holes, but I don't have to look at that obnoxious bar; all I have to do is look at the guitar. Perhaps you'll find it useful. Mine ended up in the trash.

It appears to be well-made and sturdy
4/5

It's in a study now, and it appears to be quite sturdy. I don't think it'll fall. That gives me a lot of confidence. I'm using it to display and store a very valuable bass, so the unit's strength and dependability were the most important considerations. It satisfies all of my requirements in this area. br>br>It's also very adjustable, which I appreciate. You can adjust the angle quite a bit with the nuts and bolts. br>br>I believe it could use some aesthetic improvement; it isn't ugly, but it isn't particularly appealing either. It should either blend in or stand out. But it's somewhere in the middle. It's not terrible, but it's not outstanding. Having said that, I'm willing to sacrifice appearances in favor of strength and durability. br>br>Five stars for ease of use. br>For aesthetics, three stars are awarded. br>Four stars on average.

Even for people of unusual sizes and weights, this is an excellent option
5/5

To be honest, I've tried a million different guitar holders and hangers, and the only ones that are worth their salt are String Swing and Hercules, and that's about it. The Hercules locking wall mounts are probably the sturdiest (if, for a totally hypothetical example, you live in a tiny apartment and have to hang your instruments but also people including yourself tend to knock into them due to the aforementioned lack of space), but the String Swing ones have never failed me and are way cuter to look at, if you care about that sort of thing! br>br>I was apprehensive about purchasing this wall mount because it was designed for a peculiarly-shaped object. sized- and-weighted guitar (a semi-acoustic guitar) I bought the narrower width because the hollowbody electric dobro is wider/thicker than most electrics, even of similar styles, but narrower than a regular acoustic), so it fits perfectly. (If you have a regular Dobro, I would probably use the wider size. ) Moreover, the guitar in question is EXTREMELY heavy in the body because it is like 50% metal, but the% Before screwing in the headstock piece, I put the guitar in the prong section and adjusted it as needed. br>br>Every time I move, I just buy a new one of these if I can't get the old one off (they get tougher to unscrew over time, which is actually reassuring, although I move so much that I feel like I need a sponsorship deal at this point, haha), and one version or another has been holding that particular guitar for the better part of a decade on several different walls, with or without studs, with zero wobbles or issues.

The brown hooks are unattractive, but everything else is fantastic! I ordered two of these, one for electric guitars and the other for acoustic guitars
4/5

They do not have the same main rotating assembly. The acoustic one has a longer pole that reaches all the way to the neck than the other one. I wasn't aware of this at first, and had switched the lower mounts on the two by accident. The end result was awkward, and I was on the verge of leaving a one-star review before realizing I'm a complete moron. br>br>As a result, user-generated content (UGC) is becoming increasingly popular. These are fantastic, even with the error. You'll most likely want to use different anchors than the ones included with these. Mine began to strip before I could even get them halfway into the wall. The actual hooks that hold the guitar are a filthy brown color, which I'll probably paint or replace at some point.

Guitar Hanger that is both sturdy and attractive
5/5

If you want to show off your guitar(s), this is the hanger for you. These hangers are extremely durable and easy to put together. I have a few guitars that I don't play very often but don't want to sell because I won't get the money back and I like how they look, so these hangers were ideal for displaying them in my basement as decor. They show off the guitars far better than traditional hangers that hang them by the headstock (and are, of course, more expensive). br>br>These hangers aren't the most efficient way to hang a bunch of guitars (in terms of space and cost), but they'll do the trick if you have the wall space and budget. In my studio room, I used traditional "headstock hangers" because they fit between my acoustic treatment panels. I also had success hanging five guitars in front of an acoustic treatment with one of those slat hanger systems, but you could argue that it adds reflection in front of the panel.

We wish we'd known the protective padding was made of rubber before we bought it
4/5

This guitar stand was primarily purchased to keep my husband's electric guitar out of the reach of our infant. We like to hang his Gibson on the wall because it's very sturdy. It serves the purpose for which we bought it, and the price is fair in comparison to other gravity stands. It is for this reason that we have given it five stars. The only issue we might have is that the protective padding appears to be rubber, and we read in the guitar manual that rubber may contain ingredients that eat away at the guitar lacquer over time, so we just put some soft cloth between the guitar and the wall hanger to solve the potential issue. We still like this product and will most likely buy it again for my bass because of the simple fix. I only wish we'd known what the "protective padding" described in the description was made of before we bought it.
