Questions & Answers

What are the chances that these shims would work with a hip-joint Could you use a shot to bridge the bass? The strings I have Do you think the bass is too loud?

Designed to work at the neck pocket location, these shims are to be used.

thickness of each at full thickness, and what is the depth when it tapers down? Is there any alteration necessary to fit a strat style guitar with these?

A few customers have asked me to install these on their strat or strat style guitars. The material can be cut to fit relatively easily, but trimming the edges may be necessary. The excess material should be cut with scissors after putting it in the neck pocket, fitting the neck back on, and marking with a pencil. It is very easy to line up the holes for the mount screws.

The p bass was manufactured by Fender, so will the p bass fit?

In my opinion, it will. Most bolt-on necks can be used with the oversized holes in these shims!

The nylon shim affects the tone and sustain of the instrument?

The shims did not appear to effect either tone or sustain when I used them on a Fender P bass. They are a very good product that I would recommend.

Depending on how fast you are, they might not be ideal
3/5

The pro's are - They're technically shims and behave as such - Cheaper than StewMac when you factor in the shipping costs - You'll probably get them a lot quicker - *Cons It's not true* This type of material does not shred very well, it is not made of wood. There is no true "zero" at the end. About a 0. 1mm gap separates the thinnest end from the thickest end. Eight mm thick. Depending on your position, this may matter to you or not. This can be very much of a concern if you have to stack two shims together for a desired angle. Please note that The radius of the corner of mine didn't match the neck pocket on my Tele well either, nor was the squareness of the cut particularly good. There was some sanding needed on edges and corners, but as mentioned, since this is not wood, it did not respond well to sanding. I did get my straps shimmed to add a Stetsbar to my Tele so that I could shim my neck pocket. A 1 would have been ideal for me. Shims of 1. 0 degrees would have been stacked, which would require shims of 1. 0 degree. The number 0 and 0 are equal. As mentioned above, this would have resulted in 5 shims, which clearly would have been problematic considering the thickness issue. Thanks to the 1, this is no longer an issue. I was able to attain my desired result with 0 shim The bare minimum. It would have been much better to buy the StewMac set instead.

This can make all the My stock Fender Tele Deluxe has been good to me, or I thought it was
5/5

It was only after I started watching YouTube videos that I figured out how to correctly fit my neck to the body of my To begin with, it doesn't look correct from the factory! Thank you for your attention and help! I shifted the neck by five degrees so that it was level with the body and the sound improved by 97%. Is that what you want to know? Well, the strings were only a few millimeters high from the frets and the pickup height, which was the lowest it could go for string clearance, was now far enough away from the strings to give a very crisp tone Changing the sound to clear up the mud. With our simple setup, getting started is a breeze! I was pleased with the neck relief (relief), bridge height adjustment, etc. The whole thing I am speechless! In my opinion, neck issues are not addressed enough The alignment of the body. These shims will be used for my other guitars because their necks need shimming too now that I see them. Shims are excellent and there is no reason not to use them! Playing Jerry Bear on.

We solve problems for you
5/5

We installed version 0 of the software. Shims on Tele-shims at a 5o angle Using Kit guitar style (turning into Partscaster over time). Thus, the neck angles were reduced a bit and the saddles got lowered a bit, thus allowing the guitar to be played more comfortably. I like that these are available in three sizes at a reasonable price It is easy to select the right According to one Amazon reviewer, these shims do not taper to 'zero'. 'This is the case Thin ends on StewMac shims are thicker than on StewMac wooden shims, but these points have not been a problem. They are well made and I am pleased with them.

This is a fantastic solution for Squire Jazzmasters
5/5

I decided to get myself one of the new Squire classic vibe guitars after reading about Jazzmasters and decided they sounded good. Despite the fact that many people get frustrated with these guitars, the process of achieving perfect tuning is very easy. Shim the neck as well as raise the bridge as they're the two most important parts. A better bridge angle will keep strings snug with bending and stabilize the bridge as well as better break angle. If you do this you will be able to use 10 gauge strings with no problem, even if you use 11 or 12 gauge strings. It was always supposed to be this way and it's a mystery why they don't do it at the factory, but nonetheless, it has to be done. I will repeat it again, you must shimm the neck, and then you will be pleased with it. It is Shim To raise the bridge, raise the abutments, etc. Pickups must be raised. I installed the 1 degree raise on the truck in the picture and it works great. Effects the tone in no negative way. The bridge on some of my other guitars could use a little raising, so I'm going to have to buy some more of these.

Replacement neck for a Squier Telecaster with a licensed neck from Fender has fixed issues with the action
5/5

A Squier standard telecaster that she liked looked good on Reverb and she decided to purchase it for me. My friends have always remarked on how fascinating I find this telecaster to look at when I play We were very disappointed to find that it played very badly when we As far as the neck was concerned, it wasn't original, but instead was made by Fender following US specifications. Because this Squier body has a deeper neck pocket, the strings were still too high off the fretboard, even with the saddles at the lowest possible point.
This set includes a 1 degree shim that I purchased specifically for that purpose. The software was easy to install. It is now possible for me to raise the saddles enough to properly in tune, and I can get the strings close to the pitch I like with no buzz. I'm so proud of this guitar now every single time I play it, and my wife is very pleased as well. The win is in the bag!.

The cut was not done There's no point in doing that
3/5

There is barely any taper, and the thickness is too large. In this case, it would be best just to use a cardboard shim since the taper is not zero. There is no quality control in this product, so the price is outrageous. In the event that these were actually cut correctly, it would be worthwhile. But I had to sand them to try and get the angle correct, as well as make them We've had no luck so far It is too thick and difficult to sand. Then she threw them away.

Shims for the neck that are good
4/5

To make it fit MIM Strat neck pocket, a little shaving was required. Scissors are an easy way to do it. At the shins three times. The degrees are incremented by 5 degrees. The idea that shimming affects tone on a bolt-on neck appears to be largely unfounded. It doesn't matter what composite materials these are my Stratocaster can handle the vibrations without any trouble. There is nothing to complain about.

I am very happy with it
4/5

Great product that did exactly what I was hoping it would do, which was to reduce my bass's action to a very comfortable playable level. Have been using the bass for awhile now and the neck is still in good shape, there isn't any bending or compression from the shims.
