Oh yes, without a doubt!
I understand that you can use the file on any fret end - sure, it can be used on any fret end. It does not matter whether it is a ukulele or In case of any further questions, please let me know. Thanks a lot! / Fretguru * Bernie
My name is DGore, and I just took a look at Amazon, and though they have these files listed as out of stock, they are at the moment moving them around to various warehouses. Having just sent a few more files to Amazon last week, there should only be a few days between now and then. In most cases, they overstate the in stock date by a few days, but if you come back when they're in stock the next day (or later that day), it will show up as free. It's a worst case scenario, but you can check the other listing we will fulfill (the one that says "Sold by and shipped from FretGuru"), and I can ship it out within the next I am just trying to get myself organized for upcoming shows, so I just wanted to say thanks again!
should not have any trouble carrying the File wherever you go. There are only 8 5/16" inches of length when you count the handle as well. I counted the part of the file that was stuck into the handle and it was about 6" long. The file contains teeth that measure 3 1/4" inches long x 1/8" inch wide on two sides. It is a great little file because you do not have to tape up your guitar to work on it and will not tear your tape. Also, it permits you to create perfect little binding nibs right at the junction between the frets and fretboard. In recent weeks, I have been using it to create round By using this file and some 3M polishing paper I was able to produce the best job I've ever done. This was a bit pricey, but worth every penny I paid. I hope this tells you all you need to know, but if not shoot me another email at thepainter.com. Please email [email protected]. In NC, Jimmy thanks you for your interest in my website.

I think this is ok. The best way to describe it is not great. I was disappointed in the whole thing. It would be better if it were Yeah, one side of the file is smooth to protect the fretboard. But that won't do much if the sharp edges of the file will scar up the fretboard. My solution was to purchase a dozen files at Harbor Freight, then grind them down on my bench grinder. In this case, the rounded part plays an important role. A sharp edge on one side and not flat on the other. The sides are rounded and the bottom flat. I see what you mean. It is a 5 out of 5 rating. Three out of five for this one.
A project takes me a year to complete. One of the things I noticed, and this was complained about, was how the fret ends were sometimes sharp enough to slice people's Watching several videos (tanks to 'Dave's World of Fun Stuff'), including one that demonstrated how to round the ends of frets, the search for a tool to use began. It took me many reviews of tools used by luthiers all over the world to decide to make use of this one. It was bought for its ability to smooth fret ends, not only for how it felt in my hand, but also how it smoothed the fret ends. One of my hands is arthritic and the other one does not. I also really like the wooden handle. Other models do not have handles, including one of the most expensive tools on the market. As a result, fatigue was reduced. My fret board was smooth and the rounded tip eased my anxiety about cutting into it. I practiced on a throw-down first to see how it would feel. As soon as I learned how to do it, I was able to pull out the neck. In just a couple of passes, you can round off the fret end and make it as smooth as there is. My choice of this product was a good one, even though it won't be used more than a couple of times a year, and also because it is one of the more expensive items on the list. To me, the price accurately reflects.
It seems such a bad thing happened to a travel guitar that was unused for 3 years (with a silica gel pack), but has now dried out with bad fret sprouts. Or the company was getting Those frets were so sharp that they cut my hand, so I needed to fix them. Due to my mixed experiences with local big box guitar stores, I have decided to start doing some of my own work. There is another guitar I have that has a few sprouts, but it can't compare to this one. It wasn't my intention to spend ridiculous amounts of money for a fret file, but I didn't want to buy a I tested the file, and it did not mark my guitar in any way. My work is slow and careful, but I am persevering. I am using it to help shape the fret ends on this little guitar so it will be playable. The frets are starting to smooth out well after using this file and some polishing blocks. We're going to make a few more passes on them all, polish them, and apply some lemon oil to the neck, and then I think we're going to have a great music companion when we're I think you guys did a great job. Despite the fact that it's not the cheapest tool out there, I kind of feel like it's reasonable priced and helping me to maintain my guitars well. It is a pleasure to use a tool that works for you.
It works great with the FretGuru fret file. My new guitar's fret ends were scuffed because of fret sprout, so I used it to stain the fret ends. The fretboard was protected with painter's tape, and I worked along the fretboard as I worked. It is necessary to remove the fret sprout and to clean up the ends of the I finished in less than 30 minutes, and I had perfectly smooth edges on both sides of the fretboard. What once felt like a cheese grater is now smooth and fast. I highly recommend this.
Pick up and drop off is provided by the customer The package will be delivered to my driveway while I am masking it. We're very pleased with how it's worked out A lot of musicians live in my area, but there are not enough shops to fix their instruments. I'm glad to be here! I love it! Several customers have complained about their fret edges being sharp, including mine (and another one of my basses). So, I searched Amazon for some quality tools to do my work with. This is the first time I've found FretGuru products, and I'm so happy! There is no problem using this fret edge file! The thing I'm using right now is great! One of the instructions provided by Bernie, the Fret Guru guy, lists a link to his instructional video on how to use the Fret Guru file to maximize its potential. The instructions that he provided were very straightforward and I got professional results. Bernie, thank you for your kind words. It's awesome to have you around! As well as his fret crowning file, which is incredible, I've bought his needle file on Amazon. In addition to that, he has a fret leveling tool, which I haven't yet tried. In two days I will take a customer's instrument in which the frets need to be leveled and report back to you. The FretGuru tools look high quality, even more so than they are! The FretGuru tools are awesome! I highly recommend them. The tools are easy to use, and you will do great work if you follow Bernie's directions.
As a result of its design, not only is this product a thin fine tooth file, but it was designed specifically for fretwork, which does require a file that is modified. The simplest way to look at this file would be to disregard it as a specialty item, but that would be a mistake. When you factor in the cost to buy a standard fret file and the time and effort it takes to modify one yourself at home to create an inferior product, this product seems very worthwhile. I used it to file the sharp edges off my new guitar's frets and it worked truly The frets are no longer sharp and the neck is not damaged. I don't feel that I damaged it at all.
I am not a techie, so I can't comment. In the last few months, I only recently started doing my own refrets after I did my own electronics and refinishing for years, but the frustration from some of the recent work I had done in Dallas prompted me to do it myself. Purchased a Stew Mac workstation and a couple of cheap necks on ebay and have recently completed some fine fretwork on some very We had a bunch of pre-CBCS Strat and fender masterbult necks that needed to be fretted. The fret ends are now handrolled like the pros.
