I was a little sceptical about replacing the nut on my guitar by myself. I measured everything and placed my order. I went to YouTube and watched a couple of videos before leaving. It only took about 40 minutes to sand down the width, height, and ends to make it fit perfectly. It sanded easily with 600 and 400 grit, and I finished with 1000 grit once I was satisfied with the fit. What a difference this thing makes in terms of tone. I'm looking forward to purchasing a second one for my other guitar.
I did some filing and trimming, and it appears to be in great shape. It's difficult to tell what the difference is because I changed the bridge, saddles, block, pups, controls, strings, and nut all at the same time. I'm just glad it's up and running, and the height is ideal, so I can move on from the mods and begin practicing.
To seat the strings, I only had to file them down by half a millimeter. More of these will undoubtedly be purchased.
The nut arrived on time and in good condition. The Affinity, which is picky about nuts, required normal fitment filing, but the tone on open strings is noticeably louder and more full, without being overwhelming or causing balance issues. String slots are deep enough to use without filing. This is a quality item.
It was exactly what I was looking for. Before you buy something, make sure you measure it and read the description. I knew exactly what I needed for my guitar, so this was spot on. Nuts vary from guitar to guitar, depending on brand and other factors.
Exactly what I needed for my guitar project. There is no binding now, and the guitar is in great tune.
A high-quality guitar nut at an affordable price that's simple to install. It was a pleasure to work with Ant Hill Music. I would strongly suggest it.
