Questions & Answers

What is the standard size of this item?

As for the jack, it is a standard US standard 1/4" jack with a 3/8" barrel A 3/8" bushing is required for the 32 threads (the threaded portion of the jack is 3/8" long), and a 3/8" mounting hole is needed. There is one nut and one trim washer included in the package. You're welcome. I appreciate your inquiry.

Does the Ibanez Gio work with this?

The jack on this guitar is a US spec jack, so your jack hole would have to be enlarged to 3/8 inch for it to fit your imported You're welcome. I appreciate your inquiry.

I need a wiring diagram. Where can I find one?

In terms of wiring, there are no complicated topics. Looking at the back of the jack, the solder tab "in top" is clearly a solid one that connects to the sleeve, which is typically the ground Despite the phenolic (fiberglass) sandwiching the tab, the positive connection is located on the other side. It seems impossible to find a diagram of this jack anywhere online. You're welcome. I appreciate your inquiry.

Hey, is it possible to use this on a Squier Strat? Could this also be used with the Conectors of the Fishman Fluence?

An additional 3/8-inch hole is required in order to mount this US Spec jack. You should enlarge the hole to 3/8 inch on a typical Squier guitar to accommodate the metric measurements. The input can be made nearly flush with the outside of the jack boat with an additional backing nut (not included). Upon installation, the jack has a standard size solder tab and must be soldered. The system is not configured specifically for Please accept this sincere thank you

It is necessary to solder some parts
5/5

Musicians and guitar companies prefer applying an output jack that has an excellent reputation in the music business, such as a name-brand output jack. For the output jack, I swapped out one of the name brand ones for a Pure Tone Full-Voltage unit When I connected my amp to the output jack, my sound just jumped out of my amp, and it was clear As long as Pure Tone Full-tone is around, I will stay with it In all of my guitars from now on, I'm going to contact Output Jacks.

The output jack is great
4/5

The guitars had cheap outputs that were failing. I purchased these to replace them. It was easy to install, the instrument cable stayed attached, there have been no buzzing issues to date, so far there aren't many more observations to make. It's only a matter of paying attention to the threaded barrel length when used on guitars with metal output jack plates, you will need it to be much longer. It would be nice if they included more hex nuts and or washers to solve the problem. It was impossible to use the old hex nuts as they have a different thread size. In order for the barrel not to stick out so far from the guitar, I have purchased additional hex nuts to use as washers inside the plate. They are listed on their website as being 3/8-size Nut with a threaded bore of 32 unef. Depending on the finish, they are sold separately on their site. THE UPDATE IS Pure Tone sent me an additional set of hex nuts. The barrel was flush with the nut on the exterior of the plate when 2 was added before the plate. The result is perfect. Take a look at the before and after pictures.

The jacks are fantastic
5/5

There's nothing I love more than Those jacks have been replaced on all of my jacks that I can. I believe it makes a difference in tone because they have a very positive hold on the cable. There's probably not much difference between a brand new and less-used jack, but there is a significant difference between one that has been used for at least a year. It will hold its conductivity longer than old-fashioned styles since multiple contact points will prevent it from losing it as quickly. Installing them is just as simple as installing any other jack of There is a slight difference in length between it and all the ones I replaced, but it is not enough to cause concern. It is worth it to spend more money on them.

As strong as iron, this jack holds its position
5/5

For recent partscaster projects, I have ordered a couple of these Pure Tones. I found these jacks to be excellent, just as simple to solder as Switchcraft jacks, and they are very strong. They barely let the plugs slip out when connected, and this makes it impossible for the cable to fall out. Please take note of the following The following is not a critical statement, but merely a warning I had to change how I remove one of my cables (another that uses a right angle connector) due to the strength of this jack. Tennis elbow the lateral force needed to take the cable out of a side input resulted in a case of tennis elbow (don't laugh). It has become painful for me to remove that particular cable with my right hand, and I now use my left hand. In the case of straight cables, it is not a problem, since I pull it straight out without going in a sideways direction. When I use the right angle connector, I have to grasp it very low to the output jack, which becomes difficult when I'm trying I'm not criticizing the product, per se, but just making a point on how it might be used. My plan is to replace one of the Fender jacks in one of my Strats with another one. My orders from Axegrinderz have been delivered several times (I get all of my NOS US-made parts you guys sell) The capacitors were made by Orange Drop and they have always performed as expected.

I've been in touch with Jack for a while
4/5

Despite having it arrive on time, it is a great product. I have used it on both of my guitars. This is because the diameter of the threads where the nut is situated is larger than the standard shaft diameter. Strat and Les Paul were the guitars I installed it on. My holes were 3/8" in diameter on both so I drilled them out that way. If you want to drill the hole safely, you will need a small vice to securely hold the mounting bracket from the guitar. The jack does not fit well in your hand, so don't try to hold it in your hand. Several of my friends and I have just ordered a third one for a guitar build we are planning.

Jack was great The fit needs to be improved with more hex nuts
3/5

I would like to begin by saying that the jack itself is extremely Having four points of contact gives the cable a satisfying click and adds a great deal of tension to keep it The downside to this is that in both instances I have installed these on both an inexpensive Strat copy and a PRS, the barrel of the jack protrudes significantly more than it does on the Strat copy. In addition to what was mentioned by other reviewers, the barrel appears to be threaded differently from what you find on standard barrels, and that means you must purchase hex nuts from Pure Tone Technologies. It's not overly expensive to buy these nuts, but you'll have to take into account the shipping cost. For a guitar shop that orders these in bulk, this won't be a big deal. However, if you only use them to connect one or two guitars, you have to pay the shipping for a couple of hex nuts. So not only are you paying 3x the price of a Switchcraft jack, but you also have to buy additional nuts as well. In order to make the installation look like it came from a factory, you will now need to pay 4x as much as a standard Switchcraft jack. It is important that you read this, in the event you are Pure Tone. The jack comes with an extra set of 2 nuts. The cost is scarce, and your customers will thank you for it. With its help, fitment issues with a variety of guitars will be resolved.

Installation of this great jack has been disappointing
4/5

It's great how secure and clear the jack is, I think the full contact makes a world of difference. Although I give it four stars, I do not recommend it. There was only one securing nut included with the jack. After replacing the standard jack included in my early 90s Ibanez RG 450, I can now play with great force. I believe that it is set up as a standard size of 8 because it is Japanese. This is 3 mm thick. As a result, I cannot reuse any of the nuts that came with the guitar when I changed out the input jack. Since Pure Tone gives me only one, I was forced to crank it down all the way to prevent the jack from moving, as you can see in the photo below. In the case of a second nut, I could keep it fairly flush with the side of the guitar since it is behind the jack plate. Unfortunately that was quite disappointing, and depends upon whether you have an American or import guitar whether you should be concerned or not.

It has a slightly larger diameter than expected, but it has a really powerful grip
5/5

This cord cradle holds cable very firmly in the socket, ensuring a strong connection between the plug and cable. In some cases, you may need to make the stock hole a smidge bigger than it needs to be in order to fit your rig's threads, but this can be easily Make sure that the hole in your guitar is not drilled too large, that way the damage to the guitar is more likely to occur. It sounds like a whole new instrument! I used this with Pickups and New Wiring kit. The noise level is almost nonexistent too!.
