For the past 15 years, I've enjoyed playing Hollow Body. While the guitar is well-made and enjoyable to play, it has always sounded a little tinny - to the present time. One of the volume potentiometers broke about a month ago. All four pots, as well as the tone capacitors, had to be replaced. br>I can't express how impressed I am with this guitar's sound quality. These caps (along with the Jim Dunlop pots) have completely transformed the sound of the guitar, and I would put it up against any Gibson, Epiphone, or Guild of the same size. It has a much fuller, smoother sound to it. This purchase has exceeded my expectations!.
I bought these on the spur of the moment when I needed to replace some bad pots in a Korean Strat Showmaster. I was surprised by how much the difference was. To get ANY sort of crispness from the humbuckers, you used to have to keep the tone control wide open (resulting in a brittle, piercing tone). I'm now able to set the tone to 6 o'clock. 7 and the buckers still have a little sparkle, but the harsh edge is gone. I'm blown away. To be fair, I also put in good CTS pots at the same time, so they could get some of the credit for the improvement? In any case, I'm content.
If you look at your guitar's tone pots, you'll notice that the capacitors are probably quite small, right? br>br>These, however, are not among them. In comparison to many tone caps, these guys are massive. But don't get me wrong: I'm not grumbling. These caps are producing a lot of great tone for their size, and you'll almost certainly have to trim the posts on these because I can't imagine a guitar that could hold them otherwise. That's fine, because these are of exceptional quality. Replace your tone caps with these if you're looking for a relatively inexpensive way to get more tone out of your axe.

What can you say that hasn't been said already? Orange Drop caps are the way to go. There's a reason to limit upgrades. They are inexpensive, simple to install, and effective. I can categorically state that I sound like Jimmy Page when I use these pots. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Regardless, the caps perform admirably and are an excellent upgrade from cheap ceramic caps. They soften my tone by removing some harshness and allowing the tone pots to transition more smoothly. As a result, I use the Orange Drops instead of cheap ceramic disks. A Gibson Les Paul with Classic 57 pickups was fitted with these.
Wow. Just wow. Installed on Fender strat with dragon fire pickups, the high end is incredibly clear, ibenaz art LP model with stock pickups (biggest improvement to mids and lows), and epiphone les paul Korean made with Duncan classic pickups, all played through my VOX 40amp all tube and my fender late 2000s hot rod deluxe 4x10 Highly recommended for restoring that sound you've been missing or always desired but couldn't get with just pickup swaps. I used an online YouTube walkthrough to install all of my guitar models so that I knew what effect I wanted for each. Also, if you're doing it yourself, make sure your grounds are in good shape and, if possible, improve them. Although the size is larger than expected, it still fits into even the smallest of spaces.
This is an absolute must-have. I had to replace ceramic caps on a gladiator les Paul lawsuit guitar that had fallen into my lap and had a sound I didn't like. It was unmistakably being withheld. There were no mellow woody tones or crystalline mids to be found. It had to be the Wilkinson humbuckers, I reasoned. However, I've heard them before and they sound fantastic, so I just installed them and WOW! Did it make a difference in the tone of the conversation? It was well worth the money.
These things are perfect, I upgraded my pots to 500k and added humbucker pickups, and these things added that little punch to it, and I know the difference for sure because my Jackson has humbucker pickups as well, but I didn't add these yet, and I can already hear the difference when playing if your loo has humbucker pickups as well.
