Questions & Answers

Is it possible that these would fit a crafted in Japan Fender Jaguar?

There is no issue with them fitting, but you may need to check which pots are currently in the place. Pots smaller than 250K work well for single coils, larger than 500K for Humbuckers, and 1MB for some reason were used in fenders of the 1970s. The choice is entirely up to you.

Can these be used on a Japanese dinky Jackson Dk2s?

There is no need to enlarge the hole.

The wiring diagram is included in the package?

In order to get the right diagram for your guitar or application, you would need to tell us which guitar or application you intend to use. If you don't know what you need, you can do a quick google search. As an example, a Fender telecaster, a strat, a les paul, and a les paul with one volume and one tone.". It goes on like that.

The pots have knurling on the sides. Is the knurling coarse or fine? Are there more or fewer teeth with 18 or 24?

Spline with a fine mesh.

Those are the kind of things I wish I had changed to First of all-- The short version is The quality of sound I got from them was vastly superior to the stock pots in my MIJ Fender Jazz '75 reissue bass from the late 1980s
4/5

Though I do not know the capacitance of the original green cap, the orange drop made a HUGE improvement to the tone control's usability. Now that the tone has been turned all the way down, the song sounds the best- The bass is still very punchy and tight. When the highs have been rolled - There's no power. In the past, I would no longer turn down the tone because it became muffled, thin, and tinny Sounds like mud to me. When each of the volume pots is turned all the way down, one by one, you will hear the whole thing at once Compared to the previous bass, it sounds completely different. For any sort of definition before, both audio volumes had to be turned up all the way. In regards to splines, all is well. There are either 18 (coarse) or 24 (fine) splined shafts according to online diagrams. On each side of a split shaft, there should be either 8 or 10 splines. On these, I counted 9 out of 10 The first half. I agree - To my dismay, I find it extremely frustrating. Therefore, I rounded up the result to 10 since it is closer to 8 than to 8 The word "fine" was used instead of Here is a photo of a shaft similar in size but different in the number of splines, so I thought I'd share it. When I forced the wrong type of knob onto the pot (originals), the prongs on each of the side that hold it together gave way and the whole thing fell apart. It came back together easily, and the prongs were bent back into place without becoming fatigued or breaking. Using the correct type of knob, I might suggest pushing them on while applying force to the back of the pot at the same time to not strain the weak prongs (so before remounting the plate). There is a set of replacement knobs available, "Musiclily Pro Imperial Inch Size 2 Large 1 Small Jazz Bass Knobs Set for USA Made JB Style Bass, Black," which I think is correct. Those are the next items I will order.

If we are talking about smoothness Since I've only used them a few times, probably only 75 rotations so far. In addition, they have a very scratchy feel to them. In my opinion, it will eventually fade away, as others have said. According to some, lubricant can be sprayed on the problem to resolve it. What I might do if I get impatient It will be an electronics solution made from Caig DeoxIT or PreservIT. The WD- and not It was suggested that someone else should propose a number of 40. It makes no difference what the "texture" of the operation of the pots is There is no noise associated with roughness (I monitored it with headphones, so I meant "no" noise) I found it very relaxing). Regardless of the shipping costs, I wouldn't hesitate to order this kit over As a matter of fact, I am planning to order more for my electric guitars soon.

There is a lot of space inside the capacitor
5/5

This set of humbuckers are wired into a cheap used 5 string OLP bass to give it a Fender Jazz tone Control scheme similar to the flat-style one but with push buttons Wire the parallel and series together. There are three pots in this package, but I only used two of them, as none of them are push-to-connect It was a pull, but it turned out to be a good deal since the capacitor gauge had the right rating for even less than if I had purchased the caps and pots separately. I did not have any trouble getting the wiring properly grounded on the back of the pots because they take heat and solder well. It is only a problem that the capacitor is very large and it is not a mini pot. It has nothing to do with the product. Please be careful if you don't have a lot of room in the wiring cavity of the instrument if you are using this product for the same reason I did. Since the sides of the pots were hitting the wall and some of the screw holes weren't lining up, I ended up having to dremel a few of the holes in order to expand the cavity. I was very satisfied with the final result and everything worked perfectly, with no problems or I am super excited about it and the pots have a nice feel. While turning them, there is not much resistance, but they are also not completely freewheeling, so their position will be well maintained.

A sloppy job
3/5

The 450G pots shown here come Some of these features are supposed to be available, but the pots I received appear to lack them. By comparing them directly with some CTS 450S pots I own, these have an unmistakable difference in shaft wobble. There is a claimed feature of a reduced wobble on CTS's website for the 450G. There is quite a bit of wobbling with these. They are also not smooth in rotation. There is a feeling that these are pots that are several years old and have some dust on Additionally, I am experiencing significant crackling with my tone pots. I am not going to blame the pot just yet, there is more troubleshooting to be done. With the wobble and not so fluid movement of the pot, my concern is justified. In my opinion, this is a case of "you get what you pay for". Pots from the 450S series are considerably more expensive than those in the 450S series, but I think this is expected from the CTS line. However, I would not consider purchasing these pots.

The best of the best
5/5

The set I bought will be used to build a Stratocaster. Potentiometers and caps used in these systems are top-notch. There is no other way to describe the price. There really is no way to go wrong with them. The quality of potentiometers and tone capacitors has become increasingly important as I have worked with them. If you want to change pickups, I recommend changing the pots and caps first. They can really bring life back to.

Pots of high quality make a huge difference in tone quality
5/5

It made such a huge difference in the tone quality of my Strat when I used CTS 250k pots. Compared to the pots I had to replace, CTS pots are much more sturdy. It is even more difficult to distinguish between the 500k pots that are the better quality, smaller in size. The picture shows the situation. It was money well spent to spend a little over $10 for a 110% improvement in tone!.

Pots designed for vintage style homes, perfect for 80's home decor
5/5

Our order was placed on Tuesday, and we received them on You can get wiring kits from Art of Tone, as well as any other parts you might This replacement wiring was purchased to replace cheap import wiring in a Phantom Guitars P/J bass from 1988. I have not yet installed it, I will edit it once I do. It's impressive that I compared these pots with a vintage style CTS pot made in 1988, and they're identical in every way. Previously, I have used the normal CTS pots on guitar upgrades, and they are fine, but do not compare to earlier US pots with vintage circuitry. This purchase has been a great experience.

In terms of linear vs audio
3/5

Make sure you are careful! My collection of this set has grown over the years. It is not uncommon for pots to have no There are times when you will get an audio cassette or linear tape. As the volume will come in slowly as is normal, the other gives you the full volume almost immediately. It is much better to experience higher volume in a controlled way rather than fast.

The tone on this strat is completely different from the These were inserted into my daughter's 04 Squier Standard SSS, and the guitar was transformed almost beyond recognition
5/5

This song had 500k in it, which makes it seem It was just a question of changing the 033 cap on the mid pup and adding the 047 to the It is much less expensive to replace pups on a guitar instead of buying brand new ones.
