Questions & Answers

Do you prefer active or passive behavior?

You could probably hook them up to a preamp to make them active, but they are passive pickups. I can't comment on the sound yet since I just put them into my MIM Fender P-90. Have not had an opportunity to bring the bass home yet. I bought it this weekend at a local music store. played flats on it at church, but they didn't cut through the mix (plug into the boards through a preamp) I hoped the SPB-styled direct box would be a nice addition to the direct box Compared to the stock MIM's (but still not as much clarity as the SPB-from) the 2s would add both oomph and clarity The production of 3 quarter pounders could be satisfactory).

What bass would this fit?

Designed to fit the Fender Precision Bass, this pickup is a direct replacement. There is a good chance it will work with other basses of the same style.

Do you think this will work well on a pj setup with an Apollo ?

You can get them if you want hotter, louder, and punchier pickups! As long as they are mounted according to the same specifications as a standard P-mount The pickups on the bass are likely to be the most used of them. My Jaguar Bass is a short scale version of them. The Jazz pickup is never used in a bridge position for me. I'm too big of a James Jamerson fan!

It is the logo for Seymour Dancan which appears in the picture. I would like to add that there is a description at the bottom, "Black Covers with Basslines logo". Can you tell me which logo is real?

Since just a couple of days ago, Seymour has ceased using the Basslines branding and WILL now exclusively use Seymour Duncan logos on ALL bass pickups. I appreciate it!

This book is highly There is no doubt about how good these pickups are, they really are great
5/5

This is a HOT hand with a powerful After Seymour Duncan Steve Harris "P" bass pickups, these are my second choice. They have excellent focus and articulate tone in all registers with a rounded and rich I think these pickups are better for Rock and 80s Metal as they don't cover as much of a range as those in the Fender Custom Shop. This book is highly You only live once, so make the most out of it. Don't wait any longer, get it!.

I love SD pickups, but they are a little heavy
4/5

Duncan products have been in my guitars and basses for years, and I have installed a number of their pickups in my past instruments. It makes a difference. As a result- They seem to be more difficult to beat than me. Although there is a A box labeled In the case of 2 I received the other day, there were shoddy solder connections between the leads and the anchor points. As a result, the leads broke free during gentle pre-tensioning Handling of the installation. The leads have been resoldered and everything seems to work fine, but I think this is disappointing and would make someone's life difficult if they were not willing to work with a soldering iron with this level of finesse.

A pickup worth noting Those who find this advantageous may see it as a waste of money, those who do not

It can be very difficult to buy audio equipment online in the world of audio equipment. The word "sound" and "tone" are used in so many ways that, in the end, without examples, you have no idea what either of them mean. As for the pickup itself, let me give you a brief description and then let you know that I recorded EXAMPLES so you can listen to it. As a start, here is a description of what the project involves A distinctive sound can be heard in this pickup. You can tell when you get good gear or if you listen with headphones that it is much different from most stock pickups, especially the ones found on most precision basses from Fender. The difference between "vintage" and With "style" pickups (which are most stock pickups, incidentally), the volume and the amplitude are larger, but the sound is also more focused. It is rolled off most of the deepest lows (even though people swear UP AND DOWN that the pickup has more lows, but they are hearing LOW-pitched basstones). It should be the MIDS, and not those deep, boomy lows. It can also be heard that the treble has been In other words, if we visualize the stock tone as a flat line, you could imagine it as a line that is drawn up in the middle and spreads out at both ends. There are a lot of situations in which this tone works especially well It is great when it is overdriven, and those low-end tones are great There is a lot of punch and filling in the mids. If this pickup were all by itself, it probably would work well for power-driven cars When it comes to a trio situation, and if you just want to punch through some loud guitars, this is perfect. The advantage of the single-motor unit is that you can dial in a wide range of tones from just a single jack, but if you want variety you'll need the other option If you prefer a precision bass style instrument, you may want to check out other options. It did not appear to make a huge difference on the sound of this pickup when I rolled off the tone control It became slightly darker as the day went on. This is what "classic" looks like In contrast to treble tones, bass tones are more difficult to reproduce. Some people think this pickup sounds "vintage", but for me personally I believe it is because of the way it makes roundwound strings sound almost like flatwounds, as it has rolled wires. The treble is off and the thump is increased In addition, the methods of recording and amplification are different. You can find the talkbass API if you search for it. The sound clips I have posted can be viewed at SoundCloud. com. The Amazon review service won't let me link to a book, so I'll just tell you to do a search for "SPB-" Post by the user "hags2k" in the bass guitar forums. The title of the post is "Quick Comparison - What Does It Mean?" A "custom shop" stock MIA Standard P Pickup and SPB based on the 2012 model year I want to pick up 2". This pickup and the stock fender pickup were recorded side by side so you could hear them one versus the other. You must hear in order to believe. As it does what it promises, I give this product four stars. Sadly, I decided it was not my cup of tea and went back to my stock pickup on my Fender American. This is standard. Bass is for now only precision.

I love it
5/5

All of my electric guitars have Seymour Duncan pickups, and I am a huge fan of their products. A P-90 pickup was purchased to fit on a Fender Squire P-100 guitar imported from China You're playing bass. It is true that the Fender Squire imported bass doesn't come with a case A letter of standard size Pickups in the bass style. To install the Seymour Duncan pickup I did not need to route, however, I did need to drill new holes to install the SD pickup in the appropriate At the same time I replaced the pickup, I installed a new 250K ohm volume pot. This bass is set up with heavy strings that can tune to B-flat, so the string tension is heavy. This is the symbol E. The following are the parameters Notes D, E, G, B, and Bb may be sequenced any way you like Combined with the deep tuning on the Seymour Duncan, the deep tone is quite compelling I love the sound of the bass pickup. My friend gave me this bass, and after a little work and this pickup, I was able to make it pretty cool. I hope you all enjoy good music!.

I would use this pickup again, but maybe not for what I was seeking
4/5

This is not to say that I disagree with you. Seymour Duncan is a true fan of mine I have five guitars, all of which use them, from my SG Custom with its Sweet Pearly Gates to the Jackson JDR with its lone Dimebucker roaring loud and raging. This pickup would suit my bass guitar perfectly, so I felt confident that it would work well. I am a thrash metal musician and I found that a p'up with a tight low end would sound great with that type of music. I want something that gives me a little This is true! I love the sound of this dish! It is now way easier to hear clean sounds. When I pluck it and slap it, the response goes really well. It does not work so well when I flick. This applies even if a pick is used. I discovered this awesome sounding device for my awesome Japanese bass I own from 1987, a Yahama Attitude. Nevertheless, its older sound with excessive treble and bright brightness kind of makes me miss it. I guess all that depends on one's point of view. I feel the way I described it is pretty close to what my feelings are about this pick. This is a purchase I do not regret. There is an adjustment period here that I need to go through. There's no sample audio of this product that would be considered fair on the internet, so you should go with Seymour's description on their website. This is the best benchmark that can be used for any thing they do. I can assure you that the sound is way better live.

A powerful force

I like the sound of these. In my $100 DIY project, I bought them to install in a $100 You can get this bass kit here. In the end I plugged in the closest amp, which I found to be a mid-grade Despite not being able to reach the upper range, the bass sounded fantastic. The tone is sharp and clear, with the ability to growl when you dig it. This book is highly.

I used SJB-53 pickups and they were great Approximately the same number of sets were performed with a jazz bass. This is a vintage tone, but with a little boost in the output and the This song is perfect for rock music, but can be used for any genre.
