Questions & Answers

Pot spacing on a Squier Jaguar short scale bass is shorter than that of a Can these pots be used with the Jaguar?

That should be the case. This bass had a small body so I squeezed all my gear into the cort/steinberger traveler bass.

Do you think that this guitar will fit in a Squier Jaguar Modified Short Scale Bass?

There is also a kit that includes the Jazz pickups if you want them in the kit you buy. I bought the Precision Pickups. This would be the split pickup on your guitar if your Jag has a split neck. My bass is empty. What do you put in it?

Can it be used on a Ibanez SR300E?

I'm afraid this is the wrong set for a SR300e. There are twin active humbuckers required on my SR300e. It is a passive set from PJ.

What are the pickup screw and spring lengths included with these?

These are some of the items included in this set according to EMG With EMG's exclusive Solderless Install System, you'll be able to install A volume pot and tone pot of 250k each, a mono output jack, two pairs of mounting screws, a bridge ground connector, a pickup cable, two connect cables, a cable for the output, and a wire for the bridge ground.

Jules has been given testosterone
5/5

Upon arrival, I found Jules, my Aerodyne bass, to have a noisy J pickup, and the P pickup needed a little beefing up. been thinking about these pickups for some time now. After doing lots of research, I decided to give them a shot. It's great to see this This version of J is MUCH hotter, growler, and meatier than the stock version. Even if the upgrade hadn't been worth it, it would have been worthwhile. In fact, what stands out about this pickup is how much fatter, beefier, and punchier it is. With the previous P, I was okay. With this one, I find out what I didn't know about myself. This P-style has a great classic feel to it Those stock pups were just approximate in terms of bass tone. The loudness of my PJ makes it sound like a vintage PJ When soloed, the bass dominates. Changing the blend of P- can give me a range of tones I don't usually see with other gear You can control the tone of J by pressing Tuning down to drop D was what really made me drop my jaw. I am stunned! It's worth the admission price just to see those two notes! This bass sounds better in drop D than any other bass I own. It responds well to different fingerstyle techniques and to playing with a pick. These pickups are articulate and can handle a variety of fingerstyle techniques. Their brightness is superior to the stock pups, that is a great thing. There is some fusion that I play that makes use of that, but when I do not need the highs, I can lower them as I need. Adding highs to your sound isn't possible, but there are options in the tone knob that can tone them down when needed. Packages are one of the most crucial aspects of any product Excellent product, and it was a snap to install. The input jack on Jules's guitar would need to be soldered, as his guitar is a strat I thought I would need to solder the input, but the supplied jack clicked in just fine without any issues whatsoever. It's a bit tight with the stock Aerodyne knobs, but they do the trick. It'll look pretty good on Jules if I get some Gibson black knobs for it. The fittings were supposed to be 6 mm, but they do not Although I had read that the Aerodyne controls would not fit, I think that someone just wasn't trying hard enough to make them work. )** * Next Our order arrived in a timely manner, and we received it for free thanks to Amazon Prime! Jules and I are very satisfied!.

I am a great passive participant The pick ups are very nice, high output passives
5/5

The bass pick ups are easy to install and only take five minutes. It is necessary to use a bit of the foam in the packaging if you do not have springs to install under the pickups for the height adjustment. One of my only complaints is that they ought to have cut out a perforated cut out of the foam so you could eliminate the need to cut them out yourself. Whenever you pluck hard or slap, the low end is amazing and has a very nice frequency response. There is no battery to contend with, just plug it in and it's ready to go. A tone circuit behaves as it should, responding as These pick ups are an excellent replacement for the price.

You will not find foam or springs in this kit, plus the jack plug socket may be a little larger than standard
5/5

If you follow the instructions, this kit is very easy to assemble. A kit which includes the pickups and new pots in addition to wiring with ends fitted with plugs to connect pickups to pots is included. The very good instructions that are included make it foolproof for everyone who studies them Please notice the little arrow heads on the connectors for your reference. Considering the tone it sounds this is definitely an improvement over the original pickups on my Yamaha TRBX174EW, but it's not (warning - not) the best I've heard. There is a stark contrast between A more powerful punch, an even better attack, and a more distinct bridge P You are picking up and neck jolting I'm sure the pickups originally came with them. I don't seem to be able to get much tone out of it, but maybe that's because I use the wrong strings, fingers, or amp. I have a few minor gripes 1 .

It did not come with springs or foam to put underneath the pickups. I used the foam from my old pickups and I guess you could cut up the foam packaging, but it was disappointing. 2.

In all. It is possible that the original plug socket is a little larger than this one. In my cover plate (which is plastic, thank goodness), I had to enlarge the hole. *1. *2. *3. As for the ground wire, why don't they simply provide a larger piece of wire instead of providing a connector to connect the bridge ground wire to the small piece of wire that is provided? A NEW UPDATE Throughout the D and G strings, the J pickup stopped working. My previous set was sent by Amazon and I attempted to get a replacement through them, but they would not replace like for like and insisted I return that set to get back my money, and then use the refund to buy a new I find this very annoying, especially since I purchased the pickups directly from Amazon.

It is the ideal way to upgrade your This is the bass part
5/5

The tone and construction are of the highest It's been a while since I owned a Porsche My bass has been a part of my life for 33 years now, and I've played different pickups with it over that time. There is no better set than this. The tone profile of this plug-in conforms to that of the original P-style An equal amount of output and clarity as well as the classic bass tone. The closest equivalent tonal comparison would be the Seymour Duncan SPB The same as 1, but with more body and oomph. This is a great rock tone with wide open voicing, not surprising since the tone was modeled off of Geezer Butler's old P tone. It's heavenly to hear a slap tone Funky music straight out of the 70's. It's also worth mentioning that as someone who is very comfortable soldering guitar electronics, I found EMG's plug and play system for connecting the pickup, pots, and jacks to be a bit intimidating. As of now, I am officially a converted Catholic. They make solid connections, make wires of high quality, and make sure that upgrades are quick and easy. There is excellent sweep in the pots, and they operate smoothly. For anyone looking to cop a classic P-shirt, this is a must have You get a bass vibe without a lot of trouble.

The further we go, the less we will be able to say
5/5

Reviewers give these high marks for a The highs are glassy but not at all harsh. The lows are crisp, punchy, articulate. Be sure to absorb the effects. The band is in full beast mode with some overdrive but sounds full fat and clean toned down for a bit of Motown-inspired That's the sound I hear in my head when I hear P bass. It was a Fender Original pickup, which is a wonderful pickup as well, which I'd never had a reason to replace. But, they changed it for me! The sauce on these seems to be a little extra special. In addition to the Fender Original, I am going to also purchase a LaBella flat for my other P bass. There is a good chance it will work out for them. To all the vintage (expensive) tone cap aficionados out there (you know who you are), a word of caution. The tiny surface mount cap on the supplied tone pot will shock you beyond belief when you finally pick it up! You can find it mounted to the PCB attached to the tone pot as a tiny feature. Upon hearing the tone control in action, you will be shocked to find that all the hype about PIO, Orange drops, Bumblebees that I tried to share with you has no basis in fact. This P bass pick up is great at a great price, and it comes with everything you need to install it.
