Questions & Answers

Is this set compatible with a Yamaha Rbx170?

You certainly do. If you are concerned about the depth of the original pickups, then this is what you need to worry about. Why you need to pick up your stock Because some foam has been glued to the pickup, there is a slight distortion. If you buy the foam separately, you may need to route the cavity or you might have to purchase the foam seperately

Is one passive or the other ?

You can either. It's passive for me. You can have the onboard preamp and use it active. These pickups are excellent.

What is the difference between a J pup and a humbucker?

Yes, the low and high strings should be separated by coils to cancel the hum.

The pickups have the logo on them, don't they? Can you show me an image with the logo (the image doesn't show it)?

I found this picture on the internet years ago. There is a logo on the current sets. You can learn more about Aguilar by visiting the

I am very impressed with the pickups so far
5/5

After switching out the stock electronics on my Fender Aerodyne, which had great lows but muddy highs, I tuned it differently. In the spring of 2016, I changed the interior of the pot with CTS 250 pots and an Orange Drop. The Aguilars were swapped in for the 047 cap. Even though the fit was very tight, it did work (even if I'll have a hard time adjusting the height going forward). upset with myself for considering shielding to be a waste of time (by accident), since I already removed everything. It turned out that these Aguilar pickups are virtually noiseless, not to mention that they were slightly softer than stock Fender pickups, so shielding was not required. While I'm still looking for a low-end I like (I'll find it eventually), my immediate reaction was that both the mids and highs are great. This is a very articulated and clear piece, but you are able to control the "guitar sound" By bringing the tone down, you can make the "y" sound. There is no doubt that they will raise the level of your bass. Please edit Another thing I will add is that they are very good at recording. A strong sound is achieved by pushing them back in the mix, which allows them to deliver an articulated sound. Having personally played them, I'm pleased with their tone, which is quite smooth on both the middle and upper strings, but their real strengths seem to be their I did not quite think it was "dark," but it was In my opinion, the EB's direction is far more drastic than I expected There are one line of You write with a woody style, very clear, but very firm underwriting - Although, you still have the option to get a P There is a "bounce" to the bass when you try it. Geddy Lee also seems to sound quite a lot to me - I like the J-style You have bass in there, which you can use as a reference point.

I love the sound of those pickups! The Squier Vintage Modified P/J bass pickups look so great! I just installed them
5/5

It sounds great in passive bass like this. The preamp has plenty of classic vintage tones, and is also capable of dialing in some great funk and rock tones!
This set DOES have the Aguilar logo on it. There is no logo on the photo of the product for some reason (see photos). They don't even have a logo on their website. As long as people know what they are I'm glad to tell them. I'm glad they have a logo as it makes them sound good. * The leads are the cloth push-pull type, not white. For the logo, a shiny silver paint is applied to the surface, not white. It would have been nice if the connection points of the leads could be more solid, because I was scared that these leads would break away from the pickups before they went in.

These pickups are a great improvement over stock pickups
4/5

I also used them to replace pickups in my Fender Aerodyne guitar. In general, bridge pickup is better because it has a higher output without the hum while still maintaining My initial reaction was that the p bass pickup was kind of a side-step, it had more low end and fuller mids, but I still found the stock pickup to have a little more clarity at the high end. Though since both pickups are noiseless now, you can hear a lot more bass now. With just a smidge of the bridge pickup I can come up with just a little high end sound to complement the p bass tone.

This is a smoking hot photo! This is the pickups I purchased for my Spector bass, and while the neck pick-up had to be routed a bit the high-end pick-ups worked just fine Having this set on my Spector bass makes me extremely happy, I am going to purchase another set
5/5

These pickups have a rich bass sound without losing their sharper tones. I'd recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade their pickups the mids have great punch and the highs are quite clear and distinct.

As I had a chance to test these pickups this past weekend, I mounted them up into a Warmoth and had a chance to use them for the first time
5/5

V-I am running them passively I'm going to write it with a T. The cap is 047. During my installation, I replaced a set of EMGs with BTC preamplifiers. Despite the high end being quite nice, I usually roll off about 30% of the highs to suit my tastes. The hi-five is not my cup of tea A sound from the future This vintage vibe is just perfect. . . .

I like these pickups as well - wow! There are lots of outputs. At about 85%, I liked the neck and when it was about 70%, I liked the bridge. With this product, I ended up with a very strong, muscular bottom that showed great Having the bridge pickup as hum canceling means you can dial in any pickup ratio with no worry of noise.

In addition, the bridge pickup is very evenly matched to the neck pickup for a well-rounded tone. Despite its thick and weighty tone, it is not as treble-heavy as a regular single coil, and dialing it in provides a lot more upper mid grit. Tone control gives you the ability to accentuate any part of your recording. The mid presence is excellent too. Using this bass with a Thunderfunk 550B/Baer ML112, I also used an Aguilar GS212 with the tweeter rolled back and a GK800RB/Aguilar GS212, for a total of three speakers. It gave me a nice punch that cut the mix easily. Both gave me excellent focus on the low end. As you can see, I used only a very small amount of Equalizer in both cases to achieve the results I sought. I really enjoyed how smooth everything sounded. A new set of Dunlop 50s was on its way to me The E string was like a hammer and that 110 nickels on it was just so damn loud! Those are the real kapows. If I return to the 105 level, I hope it will remain that way. Having had this set for a little while, I am very pleased so far and think it meets my expectations. It is very easy to produce tones I want for the stuff I play (50's & 60's). I like the 60s, Rock and Roll, and Standards. Sounds very rich and organic to me. The pickup line looks like it was well thought out by Aguilar.
