Questions & Answers
Without a doubt. EMG manufactures an upgraded (metal) knob set for the BQC as well. Preamps often have plastic knobs, but the ones included here are kind of cheap and tacky.
I recommend sticking to the intended use of this preamp since it was designed specifically for EMG pickups.
The EMG soapbars were purchased to replace the Spector Time Pump for wall usage that had been mounted (poorly) in an 18 volt setup with two Spector Time Pumps. This kit includes the preamp, the knobs, and the You could probably connect the EMG pickups to other pickups, however, but the advantage of the solderless wiring is that you can connect them to other pickups.
It has all of the quick connect for pickups, batteries, and the input jack.

My original preamp on my Spector 5LX had been damaged. I purchased this kit to replace it. Due to the fact that they are EMG 40TW pickups, the stock volume controls were used on the two pickups as they require a switched pot (which is not included in However, the kit was easy to use without the blend and volume pots (I now realize that I should have bought the EMG BQC Control instead of the When the metal knobs designed specifically for concentric pots are installed and added to the resonator, the tone is magical. Preamps are so much cleaner and better than stock versions. Due to the fact that I wired this as 18V, that may be part of the reason, but this setup truly accentuates the Spector sound. My favorite feature is the sweeping mid range, which gives me ample tonal options. I'm very happy with the.
A Steinberger XM-900 recently came into my possession Since passive controls were present on 2 of those, I decided to go with this control system since it was more flexible. In a nutshell, the XM-92 MIA active EMG's come standard on 2 and the previous owner had already drilled an extra hole for an EMG boost switch, so I didn't feel bad about drilling any new holes. Keeping brand consistency was also important to me. There is a powerful tone system in here There are four levels of volume, a stacked bass-treble and a sweepable mid. This is a feature that I like particularly. There are some basses with Aguilar OBP on my shelf There are only 2 frequency choices on the 3's (which are also excellent), which can be toggled with a switch on the control panel or with a push-pull It's true that the options are effective, but they're not the same as sweeping. The people at EMG made an excellent preamp.
It is remarkable how much better it is than the previous Originally, I was considering going passive with this bass, but decided to get an offset pickup that matches my PUPs instead. EMGs were active when it was deployed. It's definitely an improvement in terms of gain, and there's a lot more control over the sound than what I removed.
This is a really nice circuit! A new EMG alnico pickup was installed in my bass guitar and it turned into a kickass bass! I am very satisfied with my.
My Spector Rebop bass came with a tone pump, so I purchased this one to replace it. Together with the EMG, this results in This bass received a significant upgrade when it was fitted with 40DC pickups. The sound is great, and the control is excellent. The solderless system makes it easy to install. It took me a little over an hour to install and play it. All in all, not bad.
You have a wide range of flexibility thanks to it. You have an infinite number of equalizing options thanks to the 12dB on each controller. This is not a noisy home. The following are the components I have installed in my Ibanez SR886 It sounds fat and great because it comes from Japan (6 strings). My personal opinion on the concentric knob is that I'm not very satisfied with it because I prefer quick access to knobs during a song, so having them independent gives you greater ease during a song- It is accessible. The book is definitely worth a read.
The sound of this system is excellent, but I'm a bit disappointed in the feel of the concentric pots and cheap It's obvious that these components are not high-quality.
He gives the bass a life of its own.
