There is a high quality feel to these screws, and they look good as well. I have the same chrome screws on my Fender P-90 as stock I really like how the Gold color matches the Bass, and is so vibrant and alive. In fact, they seem brand new, they weren't rusted when they arrived. Only one gripe I have is that it would be nice if they came in some type In reality, they came in three small bags enclosed in a larger bag. They still have five out of five stars for me. All you whiners are getting on my nerves.
The price per piece was significantly lower than other guitar packs, so I was motivated to buy this pack. I have multiple guitar projects in the works. However, the main problem is that the black screws don't actually match the color of the screws. Gunmetal grey, black nickel, or black chrome is the most common color. I would not categorize this as black in the traditional sense of the word. While the chrome and gold screws are adequate, they don't shine as brightly as other screws. Although I'm not the biggest fan of the packaging (3 plastic bags inside a larger plastic bag), I keep the parts in a parts tray.
I bought these screws so that I could attach the pickguard on teledeluxe build and could not Chrome, gold, and black screws were included in the package of The chrome was all I needed, but I thought I would use the other two colors on future builds. I have pre-installed 15 screws in my tele deluxe pickguard, for which I have included screws While I drilled all of the holes with a bit that has approximately the same diameter as the inner shaft of the screws, 3 of the first 5 snapped off in the wood before they could fully embed, so I tried getting the shafts out to see if it could be removed. In this case, there isn't enough shaft for pliers or vise-grips to grip so I will need to drill out the damaged areas, fill the holes, and hope that the pickguard will protect it. This tele body will not hold together if the screws are not solid enough.
They are not black, but rather dark bronze in color - they are not consistent with the other Fender screws on my pickguard. I could have paid more for three screws, which I needed, but I saved a few bucks and have 147 There is something I regret about.
I am not sure about the strength of the actual screw, but I am not sure about the quality of the plating or the screws themselves. Although I had drilled a pilot hole before twisting the head off the chrome screw, the screw became dislodged after drilling the hole. I used this as one of the first ten. I may return them if I'm not certain they will be able to serve me well going forward.
They were just extras, no real need to polish them, so I didn't but they're reasonably priced if you're looking for beautiful, brilliantly finished screws. It doesn't matter whether you're working on a historical project or just a bag of cheap toys As long as it's to be thrown on for quick repairs, then it's fine. Just don't.
Finishes three out of three.
Four out of five screws broke when I tried to put them in even though I drilled a pilot hole. Before I even had a chance to tighten them, the head of the screw snapped off.
