Questions & Answers

I was wondering if this pickguard would fit a standard Fender (made in Mexico) pickguard right out of the box or if it would (Is the distance between the knob holes sufficient?

If you have a pickguard made for a Bass Precision made by MIM, it will work without modifications.

How would this fit on a Squier or Fender Mustang? My understanding is that it should fit, but I am unsure?

There was no way I could make a definitive statement. The kit I bought is for both my Precision and Jazz Squires. In Indonesia, both were made. They should work if the pot layout is similar.

Do you know if this is workable on the Warmoth P bass body with the rear rout?

The only thing I can say is that I haven't.

This is an easy to install product
5/5

The bass pickup in a Squier Affinity p bass needed to be upgraded, so I bought this pickup. As well as being an upgrade over the originals, the solderless design meant that I did not have to purchase I was able to complete the entire task in under 40 minutes, despite being an absolute novice. It is a little confusing how to do it. Hot wires come from the pickup, and ground wires come from the pickup. The bridge hot terminal receives the hot wire from the pickup, and the bridge ground receives the ground wire String ground is for the ground that comes from the bridge itself. I attached the fourth terminal of my Squier's ground wire to the second ground wire. Everything appears to be well. It's important to note that if you have a Squier you'll probably have to expand the holes for the pots, but I was able to accomplish it with the help of a pair of old scissors.

A simple upgrade process I would like better instructions
4/5

This is a modified 1971 P-47 I installed I am doing the work myself, Bass. There was a problem with the leads going from the pickup to the bridge ground due to their short length, which made it difficult to get them into a spring There was a lot of work involved in closing slots. If you are installing your leads, you should ensure that you leave several inches extra slack. In addition to being misleading in the instructions, the unit comes with a low rating. An illustration of the P-shaped diagram Slots for the bass installation are shown as follows It's hot on the bridge, and it's gloomy on the bridge. The string Gnd is an integer. Spare Gnd, and you're done. Neither I nor my peers knew what a String Ground or a Bridge Hot was. If they meant to refer to the pickups, they could have explained that they were talking about them, or at least show a wiring diagram showing how this is done with the pickups themselves and the bridges. It would also not take much effort to make a Each type of pickup/guitar has YouTube videos explaining how to do it. As of now, the one they have out there is more about the tone and all that, and the installation only takes three Come on guys, you know you can do it. There is no problem in doing this. This unit is certainly made for woodworkers that are not experienced, but even a luthier for a new start will find the instructions helpful There are many do-it-yourselfers who need as much help as they I found the unit to work well and operate very quietly once installed.

The wiring and pots are of excellent quality and easy to install without solder
5/5

A set of Steve Harris' signature pick ups were installed in a Silvertone bass. The wiring and pots worked like a charm and were easy to install. The originals have been greatly improved. It will no longer be able to hold its own against any P Bass because my Silvertone is 75 dollars Suddenly, it seems like it is bringing thunder!.

This is a great product
5/5

Solderless design is very convenient. I love how it works and how quickly it installs. To simplify experimentation, this pickup was purchased to allow easy pickup swapping. In addition to sound quality improvements, I did not know that it would also increase the durability of the stock MIM wiring. Tone and volume can be controlled more easily through a sweeping range. The color no longer flips from bright to mud in less than half a twist. Even if I bury the tone for a warmer or darker quality, the tone retains its.

Replacing the device was offered as a replacement when it failed
3/5

I had to take apart the bass and rewire it, so I tried again after it didn't work. The test failed. I was offered a refund, however, my waiting time was too long on my part, so there is no error on the seller's behalf. It is clear that a device whose operation you have to tweak, its instructions are even written, does not inspire a lot of confidence for its use. The terminal blocks come with tiny DIP switches that need to be pushed. This is a great idea, but I wouldn't buy it again if I had the chance. There are many nice people in the world.

This is an easy to install product
5/5

I enjoy how easy it is to install and how well it works! After replacing my original pick-ups and adding the Obsidian unit, I replaced my P Bass pickups with the original '62 pickups from Fender. Those two make a great combination! You're doing a fantastic job!.
