I would not recommend it for a flight case, even though it is a great hard shell
It is NEVER a good idea to use a soft case on a guitar unless the guitar is cheap and damage won't matter. Instruments are not protected by soft cases, they are only used to transport Amazon sent me this question, and I am unsure why it did so. The Yamaha HARD CASE for dreadnaught size guitars was purchased by me.
All Yamaha FGs should be able to use this. I have a FG820 that fits this cable. When I got the hardshell case I got it on sale and was really impressed. It's a great case, and I would recommend it even if it would not have been on sale.

There is much to be said for this About one inch of padding is used, which is fairly thick and In the past, I had bought a case that I liked the style and price of. As it turned out, the case I bought was a little bigger than it should have been, the material was thin, and the padding was soft. I used to use a different case until I found this new Yamaha Perfect fit and pretty good padding all around. The material is firm, and the padding is about an inch thick. It would have been wise to spend the extra money up front and save the money for the second case that I no longer need. The pros are I love the fit of the Yamaha CGS102A Half-M, and it fits perfectly The case fits my thin 3-ring binder of music when empty, and the padding is thick and firm

Cons Too big and too small. I don't know. Ideally, there would be a couple of color options to give it some character

It would not take up any extra space, but might affect tuning when the guitar is removed. There is enough room to store a snark tuner, a music book, and two fold-out footrests in the pocket.
I purchased this case for my son's 1/2 size guitar, and it turned out to be very well made, light, and protected. It came in a giant box instead of folded, which was a surprise to me. Since the sides of the case are very stiff, they wouldn't have been able to be folded (and may have damaged them) . The case is perfect if you are looking for something other than one for heavy travel (or for being checked).
The Cordoba Mini II is compatible with this. The case for mini guitars is very nice. This is a very sturdy and well-designed product. Straps that are very lightweight and are of good quality. As far as weight goes, I'm thinking about taking it backpacking, as the jacket feels heavy enough to handle that and would protect the guitar well. I love how well it fits my Cordoba Mini II MH.
