Questions & Answers

How well does it work on a 2011 Gibson J-series Can you tell me what the 200 standard is?

According to Gibson, the J-series is spec'd at the moment According to the 200 Standard, the 12 inch radius of the fretboard can be accommodated by this saddle. Nonetheless, the best way to reach Gibson is The 800-number If you'd like to confirm the fretboard radius of your guitar is 12 inches, please call 4GIBSON with your serial number. The radius of a Gibson circle is sometimes 16 inches. Note that every guitar differs slightly and your bone saddle may need to be adjusted to change the height, length, or thickness. Use the sandpaper that comes with the guitar to make these adjustments. For more tips, you can view the video below. We are here to help you with any questions you may have regarding saddle fit, action height, intonation, or any other aspect. I love it
5/5

It's easy to set up and SO good. All throughout, this is a solid and consistent performance. There was no limit to my understanding From the stock Tusq saddle, you can save $00 per year. Due to the factory saddle being much thinner than the slot, there was a heavy lean for the bridge, leading to a crack. In the size of the MacNichol bone saddle, it was designed to fit very snugly in the bridge slot. As a result, two issues were solved in one go A saddle that's not snug and a loose belt It sounds better when it has more volume. It was my fear that installing a bridge piezo with a bone saddle would disrupt the string balance during live performances (a very important consideration With the bone saddle, I got a very balanced signal (unlike the saddles I had experienced on previous guitars I had made with local luthiers). The saddle height does require a little skill in order to get it right. If you buy one of these measuring tools on Amazon, you will have no trouble setting actions. If you own a Gibson acoustic that has a stock Tusq saddle, this is a highly recommended upgrade. I can't think of any other solution. The sound of your modern Gibson acoustic will sound way closer to the vintage ones with this mod. Probably because gibsons are the reason for us having them in the first place,.

A real deal bone, perfect for the 2008 songwriting season
5/5

All the tools I needed to sand the saddle down to my liking were included with this kit. There is just enough space to slide it into the Gibson Songwriter Deluxe Ovangkol slot, so a quick sanding enabled me to attach the saddle. It was great because I could always remove material, but I couldn't add material at the same time. It is nice to see that the saddle was crafted with a little extra fat to trim so that it fits the best in the resting position. No matter how high your action is, the height of the saddle will be more than enough for any player, even one who enjoys a high action, so you don't need to be concerned about not having enough material. If the height is too high, you will need to sand it down. The following tips can help you sand faster As per the instructions, follow the steps. Make sure to apply even pressure with linear strokes. It took a few iterations of testing, putting the strings back on, and giving it a test ride to make sure the action was just right. I used a caliper, made guide marks, and went very slowly. *You can always take off more material, but once it's gone, it's gone forever.

This is an excellent quality bone saddle! To replace the Tusq saddle that came standard with my 2012 Gibson Songwriter, I also purchased this bone saddle from MacNichol Guitars
5/5

I had no difficulties installing it, and after adjusting the height and thickness with the 120 grit sandpaper provided, it took less than an hour to finish. By upgrading the bone saddle on my guitar, I increased the volume as well as the bass response. The bone bridge pins also work great with it.

The guitar was in dire need of this
5/5

Because the factory saddle on my J-series bike was not up to par, I decided to buy this saddle A bit too much progress was made forward in 35, causing me to be concerned about 45 side of the sound spectrum), refers to the second side of the sound spectrum. I only wish that he had made a tusq version so that I could sand it the same way and have a better choice for the saddle I could swap out when I changed strings. Macnichols is an excellent retailer! I would definitely buy from them again!.

This is so close to perfect! Thanks for this saddle, it's perfect for me I did not have to sand my 2019 Gibson L00 Studio very much and I felt that the fit and string to string balance improved
5/5

In addition to my Gibson L00 standard, I've ordered another.

It's possible to improve your home for less than $100
5/5

A lower action on my guitar was exactly what I needed. There is more material on the new saddle in comparison to the original, but I do not hear any differences It corresponded to the radius described in the advertisement. Bones that had not been bleached were easy to sand and did not crack or chip. I liked how the included sandpaper was easy to use and didn't clog It's up to you to find a perfect fit. Simply measure carefully and sand slowly to get the fit you're looking for!.

I was extremely impressed with the design and the Amazon has these for sale, and I wish I had discovered this earlier
5/5

I am just blown away. I only had to sand just a tiny bit of the thickness and side of my Gibson, and it went right in. There have been very few changes. You'll be glad you did!.

There is a slight difference in Radius, but it is still a great radio
4/5

There was a slight difference in the radius between the original saddle (Gibson hummingbird) and this one. I got it pretty close with a little sanding.
