It's not clear to me. Selecting the nut I needed for my project was easy using Graph Tech's website I selected the size which was closest to the same. After it arrived, I used a medium file to cut away some material from the bottom edge to adjust the height. Be careful not to remove a lot of the top strings, or else they will buzz. The nut I put on my $120 guitar is a TUSQ nut The sound is now like that of It is highly recommended to use TUSQ's products.

Buying a tusq nut and tusq saddle for my Martin OM21 from Amazon was a great investment. We have not yet used the nut and therefore cannot comment on its performance, but I purchased it as a spare. install the tusq saddle on my OM and it fits perfectly as long as I file down a little of the thickness of the saddle to make it fit (the height of the saddle is perfect and does not need This tusq has a nice tone to it With no loss of tonal character, it sounds exactly like the original OM saddle. I love how my OM sounds when I use this

It was installed on a Sigma DR-190 that was 19 years old There was an original plastic nut on the 1STCE. In the string grooves, the strings are perfectly aligned. A bit of sanding was all that was needed to get the bottom and sides flush. I found the job relatively easy for someone who has never done it before. This means I won't need to hire a guitar tech, and I have more money in my pocket. By adding a new Tusq nut, a Tusq saddle, and Tusq bridge pins to my old guitar, it now has a new lease on life. The tone and volume have increased, and the sustain has been improved.
As expected, the width was spot on, and I sanded the depth down a bit. are perfectly spaced and the depth is precise, which is a big improvement over the old bone nut, plus the consistency of the TUSQ is good.
In terms of getting it to sit correctly in the slot and get the action down, it took quite a bit of sandpaper work, but now that I have it correct I am completely in awe. The Yamaha plywood guitar I bought for $150 has been knocked out of its league by this thing. Removing a blanket from a speaker cabinet is equivalent to removing an acoustic blanket from the I recommend this book highly.
(it's a faithful copy of the Martin D-28 ) split down the middle of the page. As soon as I bought the system it was installed quickly and painlessly, and I could hear the difference almost instantly afterward. sounded OK and was on the louder side (at least a lot GTE), but after the replacement, the sustain and clarity were noticeably improved. Anyone looking to replace the nut on their acoustic guitar will find this product to be of great use. If you want to buy this, make sure the nut on your guitar is the right length.
As a rule of thumb, I like reasonably priced things- The blanks are priced fairly, and I can screw them up, so this is a good place to get them.
I was able to use it with my Sigma perfectly. An even sanding can be achieved with a guide.
Thanks to Graphtech I was able to upgrade my gears. This is because of their brighter sound.
It was supposed to be for a Martin Guitar, which was what I purchased. The width of the board was perfect, but it took a lot of sanding to get the bottom to match. Although it improved upon the original's sound, it was still very good.
