As part of the Affinity Strategy

An affinity strategy worked out well in this case. It's unlikely that any precut nuts will match the string spacing of the narrow nut on the Affinity. In order to cut the slots, I guided myself with the stock nut. I think it worked out well.

It works great! My Partscaster guitar needs a "custom" nut that is "slightly wider and longer", so I used this method to make one A better than This is the "normal" spacing for a string

It's fairly easy to sand the material to the desired size and a set of nuts files makes cutting the slots a snap.

The nut fitted perfect as a replacement for my SX Vintage Series Jazz 5 string guitar. Except for getting rid of tiny burrs and smoothing edges, no sanding is needed. The fit was perfect and I was astonished.
