When I plugged it in, I tested to see if the lights would turn on. Yes, it is possible. However, I'm not sure how well it'll work if the battery is removed entirely. On the other hand, I'm not sure I'd want a USB chord dangling from my guitar stand while I'm playing. On the plus side, charging it is quick. I love this stand light and would highly recommend it because the charge lasts quite a long time.
I'm not sure, but it's enough to get me to read a book. Working on a car (or dismantling computers in the dark) is not a good idea.
After I've used it, I usually charge it. When I am doing needlework, however, I usually use it for several hours at a time. If you're only using it for a short time, you can probably wait and recharge when you notice it's getting dim.

The light appears to be bright enough and lasts as long as I need it to, though the light pattern is not uniform across the music page, which makes the page readable. You can fold the bag that comes with it, according to the instructions. Our rehearsals are now held outside due to CoVid, and because the majority of them take place in the early evening, the second half of the rehearsal is in the dark. I had tried a variety of battery-operated camping lights, which are heavy, awkward, and difficult to position in such a way that adequately illuminates the music on the music stand, but this handy dandy gadget has solved the problem nicely. It securely attaches to my music stand (and aids in keeping the music in place in the face of the wind). There are three brightness levels for the two lights, one on each antenna. A warm tone and a more pure white tone are available, and the two can be combined to achieve the brightest level of brightness. The antennae are extremely flexible and can be curled up to fit into my instrument case with ease. This clever little light is one of my favorites.
The lighting is sufficient, and the adjustable necks are simple to operate. However, after only a month, the battery is no longer able to hold a charge. (I charged according to the instructions, which were overly specific. ) When you plug it in, it usually still works, but isn't that the point?.
When I'm doing shows, I use it as a work light. I can walk around with my book in my hand, checking wiring in the rack, and not bother anyone else or the audience. The warm light is much easier on my eyes than the "daylight" cooler white setting, but it's nice to have both options available and to be able to use them both at the same time. I can get through a show with just one arm on warm setting after a couple of hours of charging. I haven't tried using both arms yet, but I'm sure it would drain the battery more quickly. At the end of the night, it tucks neatly into my backpack without taking up much space. If this one sells out, I'll buy it again.
This light has made me very happy so far. I'm not sure how long it'll last, but not having to worry about batteries is a huge plus in my book. It's also bright enough that I can read sheet music in a dark room with my old eyes. When needed, it can light both pages side by side reasonably well. I don't have to look directly at the bulbs (LEDs) because it's completely adjustable. It appears to be quite capable of retaining a charge. Yes, I would suggest this as a viable option to a friend.
This lovely device was purchased to illuminate my music for a nutcracker performance (I'm a singer). This light is ideal because it is small enough to not add undue weight to my music collection. The two lights allowed me to light both pages, which meant I didn't have to move the light while singing, and the two different colors were a nice touch. Sometimes I prefer bright light, and other times I prefer a softer light.
Today's shipment was delivered. I finished charging it by plugging it into a USB port. Goose necks are easy to adjust and stay in place, and it cycles through all light modes perfectly. This is the same as the $9. 99 light with built-in rechargeable lithium batteries instead of 3 AAA batteries. I'm not sure how long a charge will last or how long the lithium batteries will stay healthy, but so far everything has gone well. Because the difference in price was/is only $5, the batteries will pay for themselves in a very short time. 00, and this model comes with a variety of light modes.
I like the design and the fact that the lamp heads can be adjusted. However, with that in mind, the brightness of the light should be increased. br>I've discovered that my lighting isn't consistent across the entire page.
