Questions & Answers

How do you store these items after cleaning the flute? Do you leave them inside the flute or inside the case?

When you clean your flute, don't leave the cleaner inside the flute or in the case because it will leave too much moisture on the pad - You'll save time. There are not many flute players I know who A flute I bought left too much moisture inside, taking my lungs and the pads with it. I returned it because it smelt bad and left mold and mildew to grow.

Do you have room on the saxophone for it?

The answer is yes It is important that you keep the pad on Taking care of the pads in this way is a good idea. A practice that fills the body with spit will not be effective. A lot of chips and cracks will occur when this occurs and a ruined finish will result.

Are the two sections of the same length? Are there two joints in a flute one for the main body and one for the "C" foot?

These are about the same size as the flute body and foot joint (mine has In the long one, the foot fits inside, and in the short one, the foot fits into the The flutes have been designed so that in the future you can store them in them, but do not ever do this! As a result, the pads will become saturated with moisture and eventually deteriorate! Other than that, they are perfect for cleaning flutes. It is the long one that I would use to swab out all the joints, whereas the little one would never be You can now relax, as I hope I have answered

One red one can be had on Amazon for one Could this blue one be used on the alto saxophone as well? If I wear it on my son, could he put on the same color as us?

A tenor saxophone would be the blue one. It is also important not to leave the pad saver in the neck of your sax because the pads will eventually get damaged. Moving the pad saver upward and downward will allow you to get rid of moisture in the neck of the sax.

For flute players, this is a must! part of a marching band and I noticed my pads would get dirty, sticky, and just plain dirty
5/5

I bought an cleaning product. Seeing as how it was fluffy, I thought it would work, but instead, it stuck to my saliva, and it was very difficult to remove. I have tried putting it in both the dishwasher and the washing machine without success. In the end, I decided to opt for The flute pad savers are a product I was hesitant to buy, because of my previous experience with flute pad savers, but all of my friends said they were excellent, so I gave it a try. It was a good decision to listen. This product really helps me keep my flute in good shape. It absorbs saliva, takes away the nasties and stickiness I used to have on my flute pads caused by left-in saliva, and just generally keeps them working. We haven't had a problem with it, and it's easy to wash (just put As long as you keep it fluffy, it is soft, and overall it is a fantastic Since I have one now, I feel like I got a good deal for the high quality of this product. Anyone who plays the flute should consider it. It's an essential! (especially for those who play every day.

Pip is not to be trusted
4/5

In a nutshell, Using this method removes moisture from tone holes and pads without a problem. You can store the end cap inside the instrument and store it into the case. It fits in the neck receiver just fine. After running through a swab with a weighted string, I do this as a final step. There is one problem, as the swab can snag slightly on the pip near the opening of the neck if you don't work it out gently. What appears to be a little pipe jutting out of the wall is in reality a little pipe. Turn it out gently, and gently press your finger against the saver on the bottom, away from the protrusion, in order to lift and remove it.

The correct use of this product will yield positive results
5/5

It's a controversial issue in the "bandy" community whether or not to use these, but I believe that if they are used for the right reasons they can be extremely Ideally, you should use them either as a cleaning tool or a residual moisture wick, but not both! You are leaving a wet swab in your instrument if you use them primarily as cleaning tools and then leave them in your instrument. If you are using them to clean the instrument, then you need to store the wet brush within the case (outside of the instrument). As a second option, you can use the usual silk rope swab to clean the instrument and then put this in the instrument to soak up any residual (small) amount of moisture that might still be there to help protect the pads. This should be okay.

It is a money grab gimmick item that will rot your pads
3/5

The horn will be protected from moisture by this product. Bacteria build up and deterioration of the pads will result as a result. You can have your horn in great shape after playing if you swab it and let it sit in a stand for 30 minutes after you play. Since years, we have had our ear to the ground. A pad like this can be used to In reality, savers are a gimmick that looks good on the surface as well as making sense to most people, but don't be fooled - they are a scam. The damage they do to your horn is unbearable! People don't know any better about their products thus they make a lot of profit off of them even if it helps a "small mom and pop" shop A music store called Pop's. I still don't see a reason for this.

The next time you buy a pad, make sure to- It would be more efficient to have it as a homework assignment
5/5

These pad savers are incredibly soft and durable and do not leave any fibers behind Can you please tell me what else you desire? Please note! )

NOTE. In case there are anybody out there who is unfamiliar with horn maintenance, here's the scoop - First you must clean the area with your swab! You should use pad savers after you run the swab to collect the excess moisture. Unless you use a pad saver after using a swab first, they will collect far too much moisture, and that is not Be sure you know what you are talking about before posting a review. I have found this to be a great product and it does not cause any problems when used correctly.

The same thing that happened before isn't happening this time
3/5

Two of the original red and black pads I have owned are still in good condition Throughout the years they have proved to be great money savers. My horn was sent to me again, although this time it was yellow and white. Hairs wouldn't stop falling out, and they got into all the little crevices in my horn and were hard to remove. It used to be easy to put the old red ones in horns at the top, but the new yellow ones always seem to have fibers stuck on them when you try to put them in, so you have to give them a lot of force to get them in. No idea if the manufacturing facility changed for some reason, but the quality has definitely declined, and it doesn't seem to be as convenient to use as it once was. The Rico unit does not appear to be very absorbent at this point, so I do not know what to suggest. The original red pad may still exist if you go looking for it Online music stores can save you money on brick and mortar When it comes to replacing an old red one, I recommend you buy here until you can get another red one.

Brush for instruments of the best quality
5/5

How to Choose the Best Brush to Absorb Moisture A humid atmosphere surrounds the entire saxophone. Typically, piping, tongue hole chimneys, and pads are used. Unlike other brushes, it has a greater amount of "Heft". I don't have to worry about lint or dust on the machine In the Horn you will find brush material. The Horn is the one I keep inside the case when it is Make sure you use the SENSE to rub the swab through the Horn a few times before you stuff the brush into it. When using a brush, be aware that it may not work properly if you don't swab first. It can be easily cleaned with mild soap and water. You can still fall apart when you are in cool water.

I like the Fluffy Cleaning Tool because it does exactly what I need
5/5

It is a great flute cleaning tool that I have found very helpful. The long piece of this set is the only part I have used. Despite the short piece's title, I am not really sure what it is intended My flute is dry inside and out with this cleaning tool, which I believe is fluffy and will do the job well. Similar cleaning tools are available, but this one is the fluffiest one that I have seen so far. It also retains its shape and does not get matted by The following is important to note If you are going to store this cleaning tool or any other tool, do NOT do so inside your flute. In order to dry, the pads need to breathe freely, and that can only happen if there is an open airway. In order for this tool to clean effectively, it needs to be allowed to air out and completely dry between uses.
