Because of the light's bright and even light and full coverage, I use it on two music stands. Despite using shims of various thicknesses, I have yet to find a way to make the clamp more secure. I really like the book light, but I'm not sure I'd use it in a situation where the music stand might get knocked over.
No, the Book Light is equipped with a high-capacity rechargable battery, as well as a USB cable (length 144cm/57inches) and an AC adapter, allowing you to charge it anywhere.
When the battery needs to be recharged, it will dim and turn off. I'm not going to hold my breath. I just charge it once in a while after I've used it for a while, and I only use it for about an hour per day. You can estimate how often you should charge it once you've determined your frequency or duration of use. It's a fantastic light that's well worth the time it takes to figure out how often you should charge it.
They're devoid of color.

a button that is easily accessible I use two at a time, and they charge in a couple of hours; I've never checked how long they last because I usually only need them for a few hours (shows, concerts). That's how long they're supposed to last. Although the clip is a little bulky at times, it has never been a problem. It even works on the plastic music stand on my portable Yamaha 660, and it's no problem on a grand piano. br>br>When not clipped to anything, the clips can be used as bases. If you have sheet music in a (deep-pocket) bag, it's a good idea to keep it in there. In this case, the entire light can be flattened and incorporated into the music. br>br>I STRONGLY advise you to purchase these lights. They're by far the best I've ever come across - I don't know anyone at the company and have no other ties to it. It's simply a fantastic item.
Was this light available when I purchased my first Kootek two years ago? That's already a great one - It just worked because it was bright and had a long battery life. However, I've never been a fan of the color temperature. This model comes with the option of warmer LEDs as well as three different color options. It's what I use on half-priced items. It's perfect on the middle setting, which combines the warm and cool LEDs; however, the charger on this new one is different, so I now have two music stand lights with two different chargers. I'm thinking about purchasing another of these new lights and donating the old one.
During the pandemic, I bought this to light up my monitor and keyboard while working from home. On bright, it lasts approximately 14 hours. This light makes me happy.
Because the light is rechargeable, it can be clipped to a book or monitor if desired. It is fairly stable when I place it on top of my piano. I can see the music because of the wide light, which creates a nice shine area. The only complaint I have is that the wall adapter wire is a little too short; I would have preferred to just plug it in and leave it there, but I currently have to plug it in and then unplug it when I use it because it reaches the end of my piano. I am satisfied with my purchase in general.
The cord for plugging into an outlet or extension cord is far superior to that of other lights I've used. The only minor criticism I have is that the clamp used to secure it to the stand could be a little more powerful. The Manhasset music stands I use have areas at the top that make getting a secure clamp on the stand a little difficult.
We use it for piano lessons 50 minutes a week. It was pitch black after three weeks. We'll have to go out and get a new one. Very let down.
If you carry a gig bag, it's very easy for the on/off buttons to lose their charge. I went to a rehearsal in a dark hall and my light had run out of batteries; it was no better lighting than any other I'd used before. It also does not sit well on a metal stand and tends to slide off. I finally decided to put it on the heavy music portfolio. On the heavy-duty black stand, it's fine.
To see my music, I place this light on the music rest of my keyboard. I like that it's an LED light with varying levels of brightness but no glare. It really helps my tired old eyes, and I'm thrilled that I can see well enough to read my sheet music once more. The only drawback is that it does not hold a charge for very long, but I would still buy it.
