For all types of drums and music, this is an excellent snare side head. Remember: This is NOT the Batter (top) side head, and it is not intended for use with sticks. What else is there to say? This head acts in accordance with its instructions. It fits most drum brands and provides the snappy snare resonation needed for almost any genre of music. I've been using these heads on Gretsch, Ludwig, Rogers, and Slingerland snare drums for many years, playing Rock, R&B, and Jazz. B, with a touch of jazz thrown in for good measure. The structure is excellent. My head has never been an issue for me.
These drum heads appeal to me because of their long life in a marching band setting. Instruments can be abused by children. Some reviews claim that this head improves the sound of the snare drum. To me? Marching snares can be louder and less echoed with this head. The sound is not hollow, but rather crisp. You'll get the "cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha cha- the sound of "cha" You'll get the sound you want if you tune your drum to a D and make sure your snare wires touch the bottom head. The majority of drummers have no idea how to tune their snare drum. To find out how, go to YouTube. This head sounds great on a marching snare drum. FFX Pearl is a game from the Final Fantasy series. It goes on and on! It's extremely well constructed. It can withstand a licking and continue to tick! The quality and durability of a Remo cannot be matched for the price. They are well worth every penny you spend on them!.
I'm glad I took the opportunity. For the snare side, I usually use a clear diplomat, which is very effective. This head made a significant difference in the sound of my snare drum by making it fatter and more open. This is a head I'll definitely use in the future.
It's amazing how much of a difference a new head can make. I took my old Pearl maple snare, which sounded terrible, and gave it a new lease on life. I expected that replacing the original head would help, but not by such a significant amount. br>br>I'm blown away by how much better my snare drum sounds now than it did before with the old head. The original Pearl head didn't sound as good no matter how much I tweaked it.
For the past 30 years, I've been using this product. It's the only Remo head I use, but I like the warmth it gives off on the snare side. You don't want to use this on the batter side because it has a three-star versatility rating.
It was set up. It only applies to the bottom half. It's mostly clear, and you can see right through it, but it is technically hazy; My tom on the ground has improved. I've never tried a clear bottom snare head, but I've read that a hazy bottom snare produces a good all-around sound, and I'm pretty sure that's what my 20-year-old busted bottom snare was.
The remo hazy side reso head is a good fit for any snare, I have a metal one and it sounds great, fits tight and tones tight to your liking, but I like mine really tight on the bottom and simi tight on the top and it gives a good shell tone for my punk band.
Drumhead replacement is an often-overlooked, simple, and inexpensive upgrade that can make a drum kit feel brand new. With this as the side drumhead (bottom one), I'm really happy with the sound of my snare. I also upgraded to a new snare wire and batter head, but the sound is incredible.
