Questions & Answers

Is there a single or double Falam slam patch included with this?

I thought mine came with a double Falam patch, but since I use doubles, I could have bought it separately. The head, on the other hand, has a nice punch to it without being overbearing.

Is there a second head included with it? 2. as seen in the image ?

It's not two heads, John. CYBERSTATION is a term used to describe a computer system that is connected to the internet.

Is it possible to buy two of these if I'm replacing both heads on my bass drum? Is it necessary for each side to have its own head type?

Only use the PS3 on the batter side (the side your pedal hits); for the resonant side, use an ambassador or emperor, which are available in black or white. There are alternatives available to you. Is it your intention to cut a port hole in the front (reso) head, or will it be solid and without a hole? Regardless, the PS3 isn't a good choice for reso because it does nothing for you (if you really want that resonant head to resonate, you can always dampen it more). People frequently use Ambassador or Empereor heads with silk screening (or the "brand X" equivalent for the non-Remo crowd) to add a custom front head with a picture or band logo. I use a plain black ambassador with a 5" hole cut in it and an Aquarian "Port Hole" to reinforce the hole edges so microphones don't rip your nice new bass drum head when someone pulls a mic out carelessly. If you don't want to cut up your own bass drum head, there are pre-cut heads available (search "ported bass drum heads"). I'm not sure if the holes are reinforced like I described above, but if they aren't, get a port hole and stick it on to protect the edges of the holes. br>The short answer to your question is that you should purchase two different heads rather than two of these.

Are there two heads in the photo, or is it just one?

It was on my wish list for quite some time. And it's just a single batter's side head.

My Recording Custom Bass Drum was able to fit into the space
5/5

This head and the Aquarian version were competing for my attention. I had trouble fitting remo heads to my toms, especially since they were too big. This head, on the other hand, fit my Recording Custom bass drum perfectly and gave me the sound I wanted. I would recommend this head to anyone looking for a bass drum sound that is more akin to Steve Gadd's. I use it with a Remo ambassador resonant head, which has a 2 inch wide felt strip behind it. The combination produces a full bass drum sound and tone with minimal sustain, similar to that produced by bass drum heads without mufflers. I don't use dampening (pillows, blankets, etc. ) in my bass drum, and my resonant head doesn't have a microphone hole cut in it.

I only have one bass drum head that I use for everything
5/5

This is the bass drum head that I prefer. Some people may find it a little boomy if they like it really dampened. Don't point the finger at the head; it's doing exactly what it's supposed to. br>br>For a single ply head, it's extremely durable. You'd tear through one ply of a two-ply head if you ripped through this one (which I haven't done in 25 years). It is not something to be afraid of. It's a challenging situation. Those looking for a deader head should opt for a 2 ply Powerstroke 4 or the industry standard miked rock head, the Super Kick II. br>br>However, I'll continue to use my Powerstroke II.

For good reason, this is an industry standard
5/5

The Remo Power Stroke 3 bass drum batter is a popular drum head among drummers, which speaks for itself. It's simple to tune and delivers a powerful punch with plenty of low end. It's a tough single-ply head with some dampening built in that has excellent resonance. You can add more muffling to the bass drum (pillow, etc. ) or not, depending on your preferences. In my case, I have an Evans "pillow" that rests on the top of my head. There are many different types of heads available nowadays, from all of the major manufacturers, including heads with various dampening devices. It can be difficult to decide, and experimenting can be costly at $35 to $50 a pop. I've tried Evans and Aquarian, both of which have excellent heads. However, you can't go wrong with the PS3 if you're looking for a good, dependable bass drum batter head that will deliver and has enough tuning flexibility to satisfy almost any drummer. The PS3 is used on the bass drums by a large number of major players who use Remo. br>br>NOTE: And, as is customary with Amazon, the product arrived promptly and in good condition.

Tone and impact are incredible! I put the PS3 on after going through the top two competitors' highest rated heads and WOW
5/5

The Aquarian SuperII and Evans EMad were both good (in that order), but the PS3 tone was the best without sacrificing punch and attack. I liked the EMad before applying the patch, but it took on a completely different tone after that. br>The Super2 sounded great right out of the box, especially with the brand beater patch, but the Evans Kevlar patch ruined the tone.

Great, powerful head
5/5

This is the drum head I prefer. It's what I use on all of my Toms and kick drums. I've tried many different brands and types over the years. These tune up beautifully without the use of moon gel or dampeners. I'll admit that the 16inch is the only place I've been able to find it, as my local guitar store never has it in stock. I don't think I've ever broken one of these.

Depth is incredible
5/5

In about 15 years, I hadn't changed the heads on my (original)bass drum. One of my old heads had previously busted through one of the plies, which was repaired with duct tape and leather. I used to despise the sound of my bass drums, but now that I've replaced the heads with these, I'm back in love with them. They've given them a second chance at life. These heads produce a powerful low end that isn't a dull thud. I only have a small piece of carpet padding for muffling, but it works perfectly; there is no ring, and the sound is full, deep, and rich. I have a Tama Grandstar set of birch shells from 1996. These are heads that I would strongly recommend.

That sounds fantastic! This batter head replaced my previous batter head
5/5

I tuned it to the same frequency as the previous one. This one sounds a lot better than the one I had on the kick before. The beater patch was included with mine. Use it. They extend the life of your kick head.

What the photo depicts is not what you get
3/5

Now, I don't want to downplay the drum head's quality, sound, or feel, because it's incredible. I have a problem with the seller's bait and switch. I only received one drum head, despite the fact that it was clearly marked as two. I noticed that many people had the same expectation after reading the reviews.
