My set included one white and one black - not as depicted in the image This is what I'm using to keep my cloth clean and safe. kick to the head- (Roland KD-1) drum pad 9) in honor of my Roland TD- vDrum set with a voltage of 11 kilovolts. When using a mesh or cloth drumhead, you should avoid using a felt beater because it will quickly wear down the surface. Even with a hard plastic beater with a large contact zone, I was able to make a significant dent in the pad after only a few weeks of light playing. I'm aware that after a while, that dent will become a major issue, and those KD-related issues will become a significant issue. The price of a 9 is quite high. br>br>I read somewhere on some random forum that one of these would help protect the pad by dispersing the energy over a larger area. It was worth a shot, so I decided to give it a shot. Some observations: br>br> 1) Instead of two whites, my pack contained one black and one white. This surprised me in a good way, but it still surprised me. br>2) I'm not sure why, but the image I had in my head was much larger than what I got. Although four inches is four inches, it appeared to be smaller than I had anticipated. br>3) The cloth pad will most likely be damaged by the adhesive. Before you stick it on, make sure you really want it there. Hold the item where you want it to go and slam the pedal a few times to hear how it sounds and reacts before removing the protective film backing. It changes the sound of your "rebound," making it a little louder and more "smacky. " Before you put it on, make sure you're aware of these details. br>4) If you have a double-decker bus, make sure you have a double-decker bus. If you're setting up a bass setup on a single pad, two 2 1/2" Falam Slams might be preferable to one 4" - Each beater gets its own. br>br>I'm not sure how well this would work in other situations. I can only speak to how the Roland KD-1000 works. Kick pad for 9 vDrums. From what I can tell, it makes it a little louder, changes the sound to a "smack," and makes it less like a trampoline, while also appearing to hold up well against my plastic beater, but only time will tell. I'll update in a few months with any new observations.
There's not much to say about these except that I'm glad they now come in a 4" size so I can use them on my double without having to buy two. I used to use the double ones, but they started making them very small a few years ago, and I no longer like them. These 4" ones, on the other hand, are ideal for using with double pedals. Added benefit: br>br> I didn't notice it in the description, but mine came with one white and one black, which is kind of cool. I had no idea they had black versions.
This is fantastic! I use one on the kick drum and the other as a male hygiene pad to even out the sound while I'm playing. Mrs. Clause and I are planning to rock in Rio rather than Rea one of these days.
Without a doubt, the best impact pad available.
Never had to deal with disappointment.
This is by far the most effective patch I've ever used. It lasts a long time and doesn't eat away at the felt beater.
