My favorite part of their designs is Taking a look at the cons first. It is inevitable that these heads will get marked up after playing for a while. This happens to all heads. There is no guarantee that the shiny black chrome look will stick around. And that's all I have to say. I love it. This gorgeous kit is what I threw on my pearl vision birch. Since they had a thicker head, I was worried their sound would be tarnished by the timbre of the birch. I'm afraid not! It didn't happen. Using my toms, I have a nice full, rich tone. The sound of my toms is "moist", if you will. They are also quite sensitive as well. Evans, they actually boost the low frequencies. As I see it, that makes sense. Here's to you, my friend There are a lot of smack in those toms and they sound round and fat. I have a floor tom that rosts like a banshee. Almost as if thunder is rumbling. I also have a kit that is jet black (part of the reason why I like these heads so much) and it looks super trendy It's nice to see Evans doing a nice job putting the clear ply on top as well because it gives them such a crazy reflective look - plus they shine. But only for a short time because after that they break down. They can take a lot of damage, but damn. My pitches are often held even when I go berserk and start beating on them like crazy. I am in love with these black chrome Evans drumheads, by the way. Anyone who appreciates a fat sound with a good amount of attack will find these to be a good choice. The Evans head is a great product as are all of their products.
