I can't express enough how impressed I am with S-Rims aftermarket rims for drums
5/5

A hoops game. Drum rims made of die cast aluminum tend to choke the sound more than other rim types. And while regular 2. 25 rims are fine, I prefer the sound of regular 2. 2 rims. The S-shaped triple flanged rims are perfectly fine, despite the fact that they have a 3 mm width The HOOP take advantage of that third flange by applying it towards the drumhead instead of away from it, so you get the torsional rigidity of the die cast hoop without the choking effect. Normally I get A+ reviews from customers for snare side rims, but this was an S-rated snare side rim I purchased In addition to the tops and bottoms of all my toms and snares (I also have a 16" bass drum). In response to the question of whether or not these hoops improve the sound of your drums, I can say that I hear a significant difference in the tone of the drums and they are certainly easier to tune. I will continue to use them in the future for any drums I get. All of you gear head drummers out there can take that as an endorsement of them.
