Questions & Answers

Is the od measurement 22in? I'm looking for a Peavey to replace. ?

The over diameter is measured at 22 inches.

I'm trying to figure out how big the black dot on a 22" bass drum head is. ?

The black dot has a diameter of ten inches.

Do you still use a Falam patch on this head, or is the dot enough to keep it going? Thanks?

The patch still aids in the preservation of the beater site's drum head integrity.

For a broke musician, this is an exceptional head
5/5

This head was used to replace an old warped head on a warped drumkit. The difference is mind-blowing in terms of how good a beat-maker is. With a good head, an up kit can sound great. I've had this head for a few months now and it hasn't shown any signs of wear. br>br>This is a very well-written piece. It's a well-made head that'd look great on any drummer's kit. It has the ability to withstand the force of a double-edged sword. On a daily basis, kick the pedal and it will continue to work flawlessly. Before I break this one, the bass drum will most likely fall apart.

Steve Smith is a well-known author
5/5

If he thinks it's good enough, then it's good enough for us. I'm not going to say it's the best head because "best" is such a subjective term in instrument reviews. But I have to say that this is by far my favorite bass drum head. I'm using it on my Ludwig Classic Maple 22" kick, and I like it so much that I'm going to put one on my 24" kick as well. br>I'm using a craft-type paper that's a little thinner. On mine, I used a higher-grade felt strip for muffling than Steve Smith may have used in his YouTube videos showing the walkthrough of his Journey touring kit. Next time, I might try the coated version, but I don't think I'll go back with a different head. br>For me, it appears that I've finally discovered the ideal balance of attack and tone that I've been searching for.

It's a great sound, and it's a great fit
5/5

I haven't needed to purchase a bass drum head in YEARS, owing in part to the fact that I haven't been able to drum as much as I used to. This one, on the other hand, worked. I have a small blanket inside my bass drum to help with muffling, but I'm considering adding another smaller one because it does a great job of controlling the sound on its own.

Drum head is fantastic
5/5

This head was purchased for the front of a vintage 1976 Rogers bass drum, which measures 22 inches in diameter. br>At this point, it sounds fantastic. For the past 25 years, there has never been a time when things have been better. My old head had a crack in it, which I repaired with 5 layers of clear packing tape on both sides. This drum head isn't cheap; after two hours of brand-new playing, you can't tell where the beaterbr>is hitting. br>br>I added a Remo bass drum beater pad to the mix yesterday. It's a 2. The circumference of the 5 inch circularbr>pad adheres to the bass drum head and encompasses the center of where the beater hits the head. It protects the drum head from damage, improves ring and tone control, and adds a small damper effect. br>br>I recommend doing this, but it isn't necessary with this high-quality drum head.

The CS powerstroke makes a big boomy sound
5/5

Powerstroke 3 is one of my favorite engines. I use them on the majority of my bass drums, so when I saw Steve Smith recommend the P3 with CS dot, I decided to give it a try. br>br>Unfortunately, this head is not for me. But it isn't a bad head; it's just not the right fit for me. It's perfect if you like the big 70's Black Dot sound, but I prefer something more subtle. br>br>I'm still giving it five stars because it's ideal for the job.

What a difference; the purchase was well worth it
5/5

Even if you're a casual drummer, a simple upgrade like this can drastically alter your sound in a positive way. I was in desperate need of a replacement for my old beater, and I'm thrilled to have found this one. The black dot is my favorite feature because it helps me center my double bass and gives me the impression that this head will last longer.

It's a little thin and dull sounding, but it's not as bad as a drum head
3/5

For the price, it's adequate.

This is an excellent-quality piece of writing. a bass drum head that sounds good It has a lot of attack and is built to last (10 mil with a 5-millimeter dot). It's possible that this will become my new go-to outfit.
