Questions & Answers
It all depends on the sound you want to create. It's dark and punchy because of the wide ring.
The matte finish of the Onyx is appealing. It also appears to be very nice. The black chrome has a gleaming sheen to it. It will, however, be marked with sticks on the tom drums.
Nope. It's a beaten-up piece of machinery. It's also extremely effective.
Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. I'm not trying to offend you, but are you serious? The Bass Drum Head is all that is included in this package. The drum is not included in the package. The pedal, on the other hand, is a definite no-no. Even a cheap bass drum will set you back more than $100, and a good pedal will set you back less than $50. In terms of the EMAD, let's take a look at it. This is an outstanding bass drum head. That is something I strongly advise. Good Luck

I was looking for a different brand of drum head but couldn't find it, so I came across this. I'm glad I took the opportunity to do so. It looks fantastic, is well constructed, and sounds fantastic. It comes highly recommended.
It was well worth the money. I've been playing drums for 30 years and the Evans EMAD Onyx Bass Drum Head far exceeds my expectations! br>br>Many thanks to Evan'sbr>br>RobW.
For the past 15 years, I've been playing a clear emad. Because my 20x20 bass drum can be a little boomy, I thought I'd give it a shot. This thing sounds incredible and was incredibly simple to tune. It usually takes me about an hour to fine-tune it for a good attack. It was like right after finger tightening, I gave one or two turns to tighten and it sounded perfect, and it also felt like it played faster. It's almost as if it has a better response. It's likely that I'm just holding it tighter than usual. But I'm even more pumped about this onyx head.
Boom ! boom ! boom! Yes, sir! This is a true classic thump! Love it!.
The sound is excellent and the aesthetics are pleasing. Shipping was very quick. Design of the highest caliber.
These are monstrous heads. I bought two of them for my SONOR 22" double bass drum set, and they're fantastic. They have a great sound and are simple to adjust to your preferences. They make a beery beefy sound and vibrate a lot. I've only played them in our practice studio so far, but the other guys think they're fantastic. I would strongly advise anyone who plays metal to get their hands on these beauties. When you hit those fast double bass notes, you don't lose any volume. I'm very pleased with this product once again, and I don't see why I should use any other heads.
First and foremost, this head has incredible Punch! You can feel it right in your chest! It works best at low tunings with the small ring insert. The durability is excellent for a single ply head, and I have just ordered my second one after almost a year of use on the first. Gigging every weekend and practicing twice a week, this head has held up admirably. I do recommend using a kick pad, and I use and recommend the Aquarian double thin kick pad. This is a great sounding punchy head with great attack and a real sharp deep punch, highly recommended, Great Job Evans! I am not a light player, I play heel up and kick hard, and this is a great sounding punchy head with great attack and a real sharp deep punch, highly recommended, Great Job Evans!.
The sound quality is excellent. The built-in dampening works well, and there are two different sizes of foam to choose from depending on how resonant you want the drum to be. I would recommend getting a sticker to put on the head to protect it, but other than that, this product is exactly what I was looking for.
