Selected User Reviews For Hercules Trumpet Stand (DS510BB)
When you're seated, this stand raises your horn to a comfortable height. It has a storage bag and folds up into a small package. The feet can be removed, and the stand peg can be attached to the Hercules BS301B EZ clutch music stand, so you can remove the feet and place it in the music stand's foot instead. There will be enough room for two horns in there. The only minor flaw is that the peg can come loose from time to time, requiring you to re-tighten it.
Exactly as anticipated - I have a few Hercules stands for music and guitar, and this one meets my quality and stability expectations.
The bell is not scratched. The setup process took a little longer than I expected. The outer two legs are slid out and clipped into the frame, after which the top stem is screwed into the base. After that, you'll need to adjust the flared bell holder to fit your trumpet. I believe the screw-on stem could have been replaced with a push-release mechanism that allows for quick setup by simply pushing it into the frame. br>br>Another thing to keep in mind is that The stem must be offset to the left when looking directly at the stand. The trumpet's body hangs off to the right and is perfectly balanced in this manner. At first, my Strat gave me a little bit of a scare.
I'm a big fan of Hercules guitar stands, so I decided to give them a shot with my son's trumpet. It's built well, and I like the carrying bag, but it didn't perform as well for us as the K. M one, which we also have; this one takes up more floor space, and the fit inside the horn's bell was a little strange, and it appeared to be prone to getting stuck.
The bell support is made of soft rubber and felt-covered plastic, and the trumpet stays in place even when my legs are bumped. It's a fantastic stand, and I wish they made one for Trombones as well.
I previously owned this item and used it for many years before donating it. br>Because I just bought a new trumpet, I decided to buy another one. br>There are no issues with it, and it folds up and is a great place to put your horn.
In a DS510BB box, I found a DS513BB. I'm not sure if this was a botched return, a bad batch from the manufacturer, or a single instance of incorrect packaging. Whatever. Of course, because the DS513BB holds three brass instruments, it is more expensive, so the error worked in my favor because the price was lower than if I had ordered that product; the problem is, I didn't, and I don't have three brass instruments. I suppose I could use the unused pegs to air dry a pair of tennis shoes.
This is something you should not buy. After 6 months, it became so loose that my horn tipped over and smashed the second valve slide; it's very unstable, and the balance points are off. Make sure you don't throw your money away.
