Questions & Answers
There is no "premium" version of this bone sock that I am aware of. Three of these are mounted on each of my three Hamilton Trombone Stands. It performs admirably; I'm not sure how it works or fits on other brands of stands, though. br>br>A word of warning: When mounting it on your trombone stand, make sure to stretch it gently over the flared section. Otherwise, the elastic sewn into the flared end's end may break, making it difficult to keep the flared end attached to the stand. (I learned this the hard way!

It seemed too small to me. I initially struggled with it, but I persevered. rewriting it and rewriting it Making it go over the edge, bit by bit, to give it enough slack to work more over the edge and under, to give it enough slack to work more over. Finally, everything went over the edge. Then I realized what the small design was for. It's a snug but comfortable fit. It's as if it's made for you.
I've tried towels, tube socks, and just leaving the trombone on the stand. This is an excellent match. I enjoyed it so much that I purchased two more to give as gifts.
Ultimate Support refused to repair or replace the stand, let alone sell me a new bell piece. I ended up duct taping the bell piece together, which worked but wasn't particularly attractive, particularly when used on stage. I bought this sock to cover the duct taped bell piece on my stand and couldn't be happier with it. It fits perfectly and is extremely soft (the hard plastic bell piece on my stand made a scraping sound/feel when you placed your bone on it). When I take over vocal or guitar duties in a ska/reggae band, I always throw my trombone on the stand, and I feel much better about it resting on this soft sock rather than hard plastic. This is something I would strongly recommend to anyone looking to purchase a trombone stand.
This was purchased as a gift for a K. I was worried that the M trombone stand wouldn't be long enough for a Bass Trombone, but it fits perfectly, looks great, and grips the horn well. For the past 40 years, I've worn regular socks, and the horn has always rotated on its own. The horn will stay put in this sock.
It transformed my old stand into something I can proudly display at concerts. It meets my requirements perfectly.
It looks better than a sock and performs better than a sock, but why is it so expensive? Most likely because it saved me $7 in sock fiddling.
This is a fantastic addition to a brass stand; I used it on my son's trombone stand and it was incredibly simple to install. Definitely preferable to a sock! Arrived quickly and in a thoughtful manner.
It has an odd appearance, but it effectively helps to dry and protect the bell of my trombone from scratching, and it is a low-cost solution.
