Questions & Answers

Is it possible to simply place the insert in the resin while it cures and then screw it in?

I'm not sure what kind of reaction you'll get, but as the resin heats up, I imagine it will change color. There's no need for that in my opinion; it's already screwed in nicely.

Unfortunately, I was unable to locate a completed example. These molds are fantastic; they're extremely durable, and there's a nice variety of designs to choose from. THE ONE AND ONLY PROBLEM with the teeny-tiny screws and plates that were delivered: 1. br>br> There aren't nearly enough plates included with this product; it would be nice if there were enough to make ten can openers rather than five, or at the very least offer replacement plates as part of a package deal.
2. The screws are too small to hold the plates in place securely enough to allow them to be used as intended. br>br>An example is: br>I first bought one of these from a vendor, then liked them so much that I bought the whole set, but after a few uses the plate and screws fell out, the vendor tried to fix it but it still broke, so I made my own and used E6000 on the opener where the plate goes, then secured it in place, and out of the five I made, two of them did the same thing. So it either needs longer screws or better teeth on the screws, and the length of time it will work before popping off is hit or miss.

Love it! It's just that I can't seem to track down the inserts. My friend was ecstatic about the Saints' first game. The inserts that came with the mold were sturdy and easily opened his bud light; the mold itself is also sturdy and makes excellent gifts.

It was a bad outcome

I made a few and gave them to some of my bartending buddies. They only lasted long enough to open a bottle once before the screws broke. Screws should be thicker and slightly larger. I'll have to go out and get some new screws, or they'll be useless.
