I'm not going to lie: I purchased this opener because it was attractive and I wanted to impress my customers. However, IF YOU WORK IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY, THIS OPENER MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR YOU. It's not bad, but it's a little finicky and takes a long time to master. The foil- It's a little difficult to get to the cutter, but you'll get there eventually. Although the material appears to be quite durable, the engineering could use some improvement. br>The corkscrew mechanism was my biggest pet peeve. The screw's angle of penetration into the cork is too acute. The cork screw is too thick and, for some reason, chromed. Before a wine rep blessed me with one of his corks, I had never broken so many corks in a three-day period in my entire career. If you try to open a composite cork, you might as well give up because the cork's surface will begin to blister. In that way, the corkscrew is similar to a drill. This wine key would be 10 times better if it had a thinner, more angled corkscrew. With this key, I would never try to open a vintage wine. br>Now, I know it appears as if I'm ripping this wine key as a form of vengeance, but it's actually not that bad. A lot more downward force is needed to keep the cork from breaking. People working in the service industry simply don't have the time or patience for it. I've been using it at home and can't say enough good things about it. It has a nice appearance, is made of high-quality materials, and is built to last. It's not bad.
For the past 17 years, I've worked in the wine industry. I'm a sommelier by trade. I probably open 5 to 10 emails per day on average. Every day, I drink 15 (or even more) bottles. To replace an older wine key, I ordered this one. This one was chosen primarily on the basis of user feedback. I'm sorry to say, but I'm not impressed with this cork screw. The knife will tear the foil if it is cut with it. The tool as a whole is a bit of a dud. I suppose I should have raised my pitch a notch or two. Overall, a good key for someone who doesn't open more than a bottle every now and then, but not professional-grade.
I work in fine dining and required a high-quality wine key in order to complete the job quickly and efficiently. The built-in foil cutter is serrated and sharpened to slice through any wine bottle I've yet to use it on. The variety of woods available to choose from is impressive, ranging from pear wood to ebony, but I went with rosewood. In addition, the cork is clearly reinforced and strong. I am overjoyed!.
It'll be three years soon. Only one of them was successful. I sent an email to Barvivo. Within twenty-four hours, they had responded. They will send me a replacement at no cost in four hours. They couldn't have been more pleasant. The warranty and excellent customer service are just as important, if not more, to me than the product itself. These days, it's a rare and highly valued quality. Brigham and Martin, thank you both so much!.
I'm not sure why this is so highly rated. Although it is reasonably durable, the design is flawed. The angled metal step on the second stage slips over the rounded bottle top. Is the first step's angle incorrect, causing the cork to snap? WHY do even those who give it a 4 or 5 give it that rating? $2 is a good price. 00 from your local grocery store works much better; it's not as pretty, but who wants to stare at a wine opener all night?.
This is a fantastic beginning. It's not only attractive to the eye, but it's also of excellent quality and performs admirably. As a bartender, I've used a lot of wine openers, and this one is by far my favorite because it does the job quickly and accurately. And it's all for such a low price!.
Thousands of bottles have been opened by me. I've had a lot of wine keys (as we used to refer to them). This one is classy, well-made, and durable. It has a fantastic hinge design. It has a sturdy, thick corkscrew. It also has a groove that makes it easier to grip the cork, resulting in fewer corks being broken. Fantastic! br>br>I like the fact that the cutter is curved and cerated. Everything returns to its original position in a neat and aesthetically pleasing manner. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a wine as much as this one. This is the one if you're looking for one.
I frequently write reviews for products that have fallen short of my expectations, as do the majority of people on the internet. So, after some soul searching, I went through my Amazon purchase history in search of items I really liked and could recommend. This is the topic about which I was most eager to write! br>br>I purchased this on Amazon for my personal use in my home more than three years ago. I'm guessing I opened over a hundred bottles during that time. It works just as well now as it did when I first got it. It's well-made, with a great handle shape and no signs of wear and tear on the wood. It's just going along at a steady pace. If you've only ever bought cheap cork screws, you've probably been frustrated by not being able to get the lever on the bottle's edge after driving the screw too deep. This unit, like other high-quality cork screws, features a "two-part lever" to address this issue. "Damn!" I exclaimed the first time I used this opener. What had I been doing all my life, if not trying to save a few dollars to alleviate my misery? But, to be fair, I had no idea what I had been missing. This two-part lever has a spring loaded mechanism. The spring, like everything else about piece of perfection, is still working as well as it was three years ago.
