Plastic with a copper finish
The inside of the top is made up of a white plastic piece that is inserted into a copper-colored frame. plating on a plastic piece I believe it is constructed in this manner to prevent corrosion. The copper plating will not be harmed because of the salt. We've had ours since the summer, and it hasn't corroded in the least. They disperse just the right amount of salt and pepper, are simple to fill, and you can tell which is which at a glance. Ours is a big hit with us!

The two "different" salt and pepper shakers are actually the same, with the same number, size, and distribution of holes in the top, as dozens of Amazon reviewers have noted for dozens of different "salt and pepper shaker sets. " These shakers work great for pepper, but the salt just pours out and you can't control how much you put on your food. br>br>That was the case with my previous Amazon order, and I was fed up with it. To be clear, I prefer my food to be seasoned with salt. These shakers, on the other hand, pack a lot of punch. So this time, I scrutinized the photos and compared the holes to screen dozens upon dozens of "different" sets. This was the only set I could find with the salt shaker having fewer and smaller holes than the pepper shaker. So . I placed an order for it. br>br>And it makes me deliriously happy. br>br>Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, o The shakers, too, are quite attractive. Because the bottles are glass, it's easy to see how much salt or pepper is left inside, and they even came pre-filled with salt and pepper, which I'm not sure why - I would have bought them even if it hadn't been for that. I can't speak to how easy they are to refill because I don't need to because I can control how much I use.
This is the shaker for you if your goal is to barely get any salt out of it. I'm thinking about drilling some more holes in the top, but I'm just as likely to discard these. br>br>The issue is that there are too few small holes in the top of the salt shaker, combined with the thickness of the plastic top, which means you have to do a lot of frustrating shaking to get the salt crystals to miraculously find their way into the (few) holes and make the long journey through the lid so they can finally, eventually, land on your food in frustratingly itty bitty teeny weeny quantities. br>br>If you want to give yourself the illusion of salting your food without actually salting it, these are perfect for you.
The shaker lids appear to have a gap between the layers where salt and pepper can get in, clogging them up. The salt shaker was particularly difficult at first, but after adding some rice to the shaker, it stopped clogging as much, indicating that the issue is more likely due to humidity than anything else. The tops' finish is also chipping around the holes, but since it's a plastic top rather than metal, there's no rust.
Shakes that are both nice and big. They were filled with salt and pepper when they arrived, which was a nice surprise, and they are very classy and look great on the counter. The holes are in excellent condition.
They're the ideal size, shape, and color combination. They are already seasoned with salt and pepper.
These were adorable and a nice mix of modern and vintage. In my kitchen, they look fantastic. I also paid a little more because I was in a hurry when I moved into my new apartment and liked that they were already filled. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the salt and pepper in these. It never occurred to me that it could be so delectable. This is something I would recommend to anyone. The holes disperse just enough of the contents. Holding it is a breeze.
Pros:
- Unlike some other brands, the holes on this salt shaker aren't as big. br>- a suitable sizebr>- The windows are clear, so you can see when you need to refill. br>br>Cons:
- After a few months, I discovered a crack in the clear plastic; I'm not sure if it was always there because it wasn't dropped.
- It appears to be low-cost. br>- Scratch lines from manufacturing are visible on the metal-looking material. br>br>I'm not a fan.
Without having to count the number of holes on the top or remember whether there are three or four holes for salt, ha! These little shakers are fantastic!.
