It works well, but it could be better

The thermometer appears to be in good working order. The calibration was perfect, and the response was lightning fast. The backlight is also effective, the screen is easy to read, and the inclusion of a spare battery is a nice touch. I'm glad I got it because it was well worth the money. br>br>This product has two (minor) flaws:br>The instructions are a bit shabby. I figured out how to use the features, but it took a lot longer and more fumbling than it should have. br>The cabled probe has no pot clip. I use it to check the temperature of a pot every now and then, and a clip to keep the probe in place and suspended off the bottom would be very useful. I improvised with a paper clip, but it's not good enough.

Thermometer that is simple to use and quick to read

When our previous thermometer (OXO brand) broke down (the probe separated from the thermocouple), we decided to buy this one. I was able to repair my OXO but wanted to replace it, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. br>This meat thermometer is simple to use, has an attached probe as well as a cable probe, and acquires temperature quickly. In boiling water, I tested both my fixed OXO and this meat thermometer, and I was impressed by how quickly this meat thermometer reached the desired temperature (it bounced between 210F and 212F, but I think that's due to heat stratification in the water - Our previous thermometer took much longer to reach the "final" temperature (the OXO brand had similar bouncing around). br>I wish the cabled temperature probe had a way to "store" on the main unit, but we keep it in a drawer, so having the cabled probe laying in the drawer next to it isn't too inconvenient. br>The thermometer performs exactly as expected; it has lights for visibility in low light and an audible alarm that sounds when the temperature reaches the set point. br>Overall, I'm very pleased and would recommend this product!.

I verified its accuracy and it's spot on; I especially like how it has the recommended temperatures for various meats right on it, and the probe is a must-have; good, clear instructions; and an extra battery to boot! The battery alone costs about $6, and there are two of them included! It appeals to me. br>Oh, and here's something else you should know. It has a magnet on the inside, so I can stick it to my refrigerator or stove hood, which is very convenient for me.

Accurate, intuitive, and reasonably priced

Given the low price, I was skeptical of this thermometer at first, but after using it for a few weeks, I must say that I am impressed with how well it works. br>br>As you can see in the video, this thermometer came perfectly calibrated and is dead accurate. This thermometer's magnetic body, combined with the remote probe, makes it an excellent addition to your kitchen arsenal, whether you're baking, grilling, or smoking. br>br>At this time, there are no drawbacks to report; it appears to be a wonderful little product!.

I've never had a better meat thermometer! I got it because our old one mysteriously vanished and we were in desperate need of an upgrade! I wasn't expecting it to be so great, with so many different features and extra batteries, Velcro patches, and an extension probe included! It's much nicer than I expected for the price, and the box it came in is good enough to keep for storing it and its accessories! I love that it has an alarm to let me know when the food is done, a bottle opener built in, it's super easy to clean, comes with good detailed instructions and a meat temperature guide (both on the thermometer itself and on paper), the ability to select the type of meat, temperature holding, foldable probe, detachable wire probe (can even be used as a "wine probe" or on the grill and left in the meat to monitor temperature until it's ready! It's also very simple to use and read! It comes with Velcro patches to apply, as well as strong magnets in the back! My brother, too- The fact that it's so good impressed my brother-in-law (who is a chef)! I'd give it a higher rating if I could! This is a fantastic product that I wholeheartedly recommend!

I don't use the longer probe and wouldn't have bought a thermometer if it hadn't come with one, but other chefs in the house do, so I'm glad it came with one for them! Also, when they're temping on the grill at night, the light is helpful. br>br>I like how it beeps when you've reached the proper temperature for the protein you're cooking! I used to have to look up what temperature it had to reach all of the time. (Thank you also for including a temp log as a backup). br>br>It doesn't take up a lot of space in the kitchen, and the bright orange color makes it easy to locate. br>br>This is a product I would strongly recommend!.
