Questions & Answers

What is the procedure for ordering parts such as gaskets and the like?

Sorry, but I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Is there a stainless steel or a plastic interior?

Stainless steel is used to line it.

Is it made of stainless steel that is suitable for use in food?

Yes, that is correct. We've made soup with it and etoufee with it. It kept the food warm and was simple to clean.

Is there a holder with this?

Sorry, no holder, but it is small and light enough to be handled by an average adult.

LEAKS!   There are a lot of leaks
3/5

What a waste, and we didn't use it until after the return period had ended, so it'll end up in the trash. Don't make the same mistake we did and try it out right away.

REMEMBER TO READ THE WARNINGS - IMPORTANT IN A SURPRISING WAY
5/5

I purchased the stainless steel unpainted ones because the paint chips off over time (which is bad for the environment). In addition, I wash them on the top rack of the dishwasher, where the paint will almost certainly come off (a lesson learned the hard way). However, after reading the negative reviews, I believe there are some issues that everyone should be aware of. I wrote the warnings that come with each Thermos on a small piece of paper in very small print to make them difficult to read. As a result, I strongly advise you to read them. Although it may appear that a Thermos does not require warnings, it does. Here are the details:

- NOT TO BE USED IN THE MICROWAVE OR ON THE STOVE- atop a stovetop or in a conventional ovenbr>- NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN'S USE: Keep out of reach of children, especially if the product contains hot contents that could burn or scald the user [more information can be found in the negative reviews]br>- Before you eat something, make sure it's the right temperature.
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVERFILL THE CONTAINER: To avoid overflowing, leave enough room at the top of the container for the lid and stopper (if applicable). If there is an overflow of hot contents, the user may be burned or scalded. br>- Check for any gaskets (flexible band around lid and/or stopper) that are present and properly positioned to prevent contents from passing through life when the lid is closed on a regular basis. A leaking product could be caused by a missing, worn, or misaligned gasket. The user may be burned or scalded if hot contents leak.
- In general, contents should not be left in a container for more than 24 hours, but the rate at which they spoil is dependent on a number of factors. Certain contents, such as dairy and/or tomato, may spoil sooner than expected. When using a product that has a high risk of spoiling, proceed with caution.
- If the contents have been in the container for more than 24 hours or you suspect spoilage, open it with caution. Pressure inside the container may build due to spoilage of the contents, which could result in the stopper or contents being ejected forcefully. Before attempting to open the container in such a situation, MAKE SURE THE OPENING IS POINTED AWAY FROM THE USER OR OTHER PERSONS TO AVOID INJURY.
- DO NOT USE TOOLS OR DEVICES TO FORCE THE OPENING OF THE CONTAINER.
- If you can't open the container with your hands, don't open it and dispose of it at your local waste facility.
- DO NOT USE TO STORE OR TRANSPORT COOLED DRINK OR DRY ICE, AS THIS MAY CAUSE THE LIDS/STOPPER TO EJECT FORCEFULLY OR LEAK. br>br>With regard to the final caution: I did, however, put a carbonated beverage in the Thermos. Later on, I was unable to remove the lid. For a few days, I didn't touch the Thermos. I was able to remove the lid when the soda had gone flat. As a result, there will be no soda in the saunas. br>br>I sincerely hope that no one else is hurt as a result of this. br>br>* Cleaning the Thermos is simple IF you follow these steps:
- Buy the plain ones instead of the colored ones. br>- As soon as you get home, rinse the Thermos out. br>- Thermos should be washed on the top rack of the dishwasher if they are not colored or painted.

I purchased two of them because they were nearly perfect
4/5

I use it as directed, filling it with boiling water and letting it sit for a while before putting it in boiling hot soup. My soup was still hot enough to burn my lips if I hadn't been careful after seven hours. Why only 4 stars? Another time, I had soup in the thermos for about 13 hours and it was still hot after that long. I'm hoping the screw-driver will come in handy. The part of the lid that comes into contact with the food was made of stainless steel rather than plastic. Food and hot plastic don't seem to me to be healthy or appropriate. I finally gave in and bought these because I couldn't find another good-rated food container that didn't have plastic in contact with the food. They do a good job, but I still don't like it when hot plastic comes into contact with my food.

Thermos, Stanley, and Zojirushi are just a few of the brands that come to mind
3/5

I purchased all three, and they all work as they should. The Zojirushi looks nice and appears to be of the highest quality, but I'm not sure if the significant price difference between it and the Thermos is justified. Overall, I'm not convinced that using any type of thermal container is a good idea. Please see the following notes for more information. Stainless Steel Thermos Stainless King 24 Ounce Food Jarbr>Fair price and does what it says on the tin. The lid is a bit on the small side, but it serves its purpose. br>br>Stanley Adventure Vacuum Food Jar 24ozbr>Slightly larger (but same inner capacity) than the other two. Although the extra-large lid is useful, it is made of plastic. The container's exterior is painted and does not appear to be as attractive as the other two. Zojirushi SW-Zojirushi SW-Zojirushi SW-Zojirushi SW-Zojirushi SW-Zojirushi SW-Z Food Jar, 25 oz. FCE75XA Thermos, Ounce, Black/Stainlessbr>Seems to be the best quality of the three, but at more than twice the price of the Thermos, I'm not sure it's worth it. The cleaning process is slightly more involved if you disassemble the lid completely each time you clean it (as recommended by the manufacturer), and there's a tiny piece that can easily be lost. This container is missing a lid, but vacuum containers all seem to have plastic lids, so it's not a big deal. Overall, if you're willing to pay the price, it's a well-made product; as long as the food you put in the container is steaming hot in the morning, it'll be hot by lunchtime, and all three containers appear to have roughly the same ability to keep hot foods hot. br>br>Notes on each of the three: The lids are made of plastic, to begin with. When filling the containers with food, you might not notice a plastic taste or odor. However, if you pour boiling water into any of these and close the lid, the water absorbs the plastic, leaving an overwhelming odor and taste. I put this to the test in all three, and the water was undrinkable after about an hour in the containers. Moreover, despite the fact that the openings of the three containers are considered wide, they are not wide enough to comfortably eat out of, especially since the containers are deeper than smaller vacuum containers. Soup is perhaps easier to eat, and this isn't an issue if the food is poured into another container before eating. But keep in mind that eating from a large bottle isn't the best option. Adding food to the container can also be difficult, and you may need to use a funnel to make the process go more smoothly. Finally, cleaning these containers can be inconvenient due to the disassembly of the lids and the difficulty of cleaning the inside of the container if your hand does not fit.

THE PROTECTIVE PLASTIC COVERING IS VERY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE
4/5

There must be a better way to package this item. br>I spent a long time carefully opening the plastic covering so as not to scratch the surface. br>To release the plastic, there should have been a flap to pull on. Despite my best efforts, I scratched the surface of my brand-new thermos while attempting to remove the plastic! br>It's a real pain!.
