Questions & Answers

Although the label reads "food jar," the opening appears to be quite small. Would it be able to hold a salad, keep it fresh for 8 hours, and be easily eaten straight from the "jar"?

Hello, I mostly use this thermos for soups and stews, but I've eaten out of it several times, and the mouth is wide enough for a spoon or fork to reach in. As for keeping a salad fresh for eight hours, as long as you add the dressing right before eating so it doesn't make the salad soggy, it should be fine. I've been very pleased with this thermos thus far and would highly recommend it. I hope this information is useful.

Is it possible for our hands to enter the jar? Is it really that big of a gap?

You can't put your whole hand inside unless you have very small hands, so I usually put some water and a dish cloth in there and shake it up. It does an excellent job, and all I have to do after that is rinse. This jar is one of my husband's favorites because it holds three cups of food and keeps it warm to hot at all times.

Is it necessary for these to be completely filled in order for them to maintain their heat? I'm hoping to hold 18 - 20 people. 20 ounces of soup, plus some. ?

This thermos will keep your food hot or cold as stated on the label. My husband brings hot soups and stews to work with him. At 5 p.m., I put together his lunch: He eats by 1 p.m., despite the fact that he gets up at 30 a.m. Hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot During the summer, he drinks natural fruit juices with ice, which does not melt and only serves to keep the drink cold. This product is fantastic!

What is the opening's diameter? I'd also like to get a funnel with a large opening. ?

It measures approximately 8cm in length. You could look at other food jars like lunchbots if you want a wide mouth funnel. They have a funnel-shaped food jar with a wide mouth.

DO NOT BUY! DANGEROUS! This just blew up in the back of my boyfriend's truck! Extremely hazardous
3/5

It is recommended that this be done. It only contained hot soup. It was only a few months ago that I purchased it.

Purchases should be avoided
3/5

Unsafe! I bought it and used it twice before my wife filled it with warm soup for the third time. I tried to eat my soup around 1 p. m. that day but was unable to remove the plastic inner lid. Because I work as a driver, I gave it a few tries before putting it away. When I got home from work and tried to take it off again with a rag in my hand, it wouldn't budge, so I assumed some of the soup had gotten into the plastic cap's threads. So I grabbed a pair of channel lock pliers to help me get a grip and open it up so the liquid could flow out. I gave it a little crank and it exploded in my face, the lid flew off the pliers I was holding and smashed into my forehead, leaving a deep gash. My lips and nose were busted and burned by the sheer force of the air coming out. It sounded as if a gunshot had been fired! Four hours later, my ears are still ringing, and my lips and nose are red, chaffed, and burned. I was extremely fortunate that it struck my forehead rather than my nose or, even worse, one of my eye sockets, as it could have blinded me. br>br>I called thermos and they said they couldn't give me a phone number for anyone other than themselves (customer support). They said they had to file a claim and message it to that department because they didn't have one. She stated that this was a serious situation and that they would contact me within the hour, even though it had been all day. no call. This is totally unacceptable on the part of Thermos.

It's very good at holding heat
5/5

If you want to keep the heat in a dry/non-humid environment, this is the way to go. YOU MUST PREHEAT ALL LIQUID FOODS! Fill with boiling water and set aside for a few minutes before adding your food (heat your food well beyond the point of consumption. ) )br>Also, don't get carried away with your purchases! To get the best results, make sure it's completely filled so no heat escapes through the air space. br>I usually start filling this around 530 a. m. and eat lunch from it around 11 a. m. 12pm. It retains heat well enough that I usually have to blow on my food to cool it down after about 6 hours. I didn't have time to eat my lunch the day before yesterday. My food had been in the thermos for 12 hours and when I opened it, it was still at 130 degrees F. This is a product that I would strongly recommend.

I BOUGHT FOR THE SECOND TIME
3/5

I purchased the Food Jar from Amazon twice, each time at a different time. However, I discovered that the quality of the Food Jar is not as good as it used to be. The size, the interior, and the label are all important factors to consider. I can say that the item I previously purchased was exactly as described. The food jar thermos inner without the combine line was dissapoonted the second time I bought the food jar, despite the fact that the price was lower than the first time. On the cap and body, there is a scratch and a sag. So two stars this time, and I'm aware of the quality.

WARNING OF AN EXTREME EXPLOSION I would have given this thermos(bomb) a perfect score if I wasn't such a jerk! I've been in a few fights in my time, particularly when I was enlisted as a reconnaissance soldier
3/5

I've never needed stitches, no matter how hard I was hit in the face. No IEDs, RPGs, or good ol' fists could touch this Beautiful face of mine. br>br>After a few years, I decide to bring soup to my civilian job. That is where I went wrong.
. br>br>As you can see, this thermos has blown up before. My apartment is being inundated with chicken chili. Today, I decided to give home-made Zuppa Toscana another shot! br>br>Perhaps I'm missing something about food storage science. Perhaps, like the taliban, Thermos has a secret. In any case, when you first open this device, you'll notice. . . My upper lip was busted open by the lid, which soaked my shirt in soup and blood. I was also taken to the emergency room for four stitches. br>br>Is there any good news? My lovely face might be saved by the doctors! The bad news is that I squandered a wonderful soup.

Food stays hot or cold in a Thermos until it's time to eat it
5/5

I had a smaller version of this Thermos and needed something a little more substantial. I'm so glad I purchased this Thermos. I can put my breakfast in the smaller bag and my lunch/dinner in the larger bag. I had been packing my lunches since before the pandemic. Because I have a slight aversion to germs, using the office refrigerator or microwave makes me feel uneasy. It's only cleaned once or twice a month, and no one throws spoiled food away. When food splatters in the microwave, it does not clean up after itself. So I pack hot and cold foods in my Thermos so that I don't have to heat or refrigerate them until I'm ready to eat. If I make overnight oats, I keep the thermos in the fridge until I leave for work in the morning. If I'm bringing soups, stews, or other hot foods, I'll heat them up in the morning, pack them in the thermos, and everything will be ready to eat when I get there. They've also come in handy when I've traveled. During my cross-country trip, my food stayed fresh for more than 18 hours.

This is a fantastic product

proof. Lunch is piping hot.   There are no leaks in this product The gasket on the lid serves as a watertight seal. As a result of this purchase, I am able to have a hot lunch every day, and I am saving a lot of money. I'm not sure why people's thermoses are blowing up, but I've used mine several times and there's no chance of them popping or exploding. If you've ever carried a thermos in school, you're aware that pressure will build up. It's almost as sweet as a soda pop, but not quite. I'm starting to think these people are just making stuff up. Now is the time to get your thermos.

Design that is impractical to the point of being completely useless
3/5

This container has a neck that is too narrow, measuring less than 3 inches in circumference. If you're going to bring Miso soup or other liquid foods to work, it'll be fine; however, if you're going to bring solid foods to work, such as spaghetti or stews, don't bother. It's difficult to remove the food without spilling it all over the place. Not to mention the fact that it's nearly impossible to place the cooked food inside without some spilling on your stove or kitchen counter. Yes, it's only about the size of three quarter coins. The cup is extremely small, almost as if it were designed for sampling foods at a grocery store. Then there's the issue of cleaning up the container. The space is simply too small. This thing should be designed to be much larger and serve a purpose. br>So, I bought it about 5 months ago, used it once, and now I feel like I squandered my money.
