I'd say about 5 hours, possibly a little longer. Before I put the hot stuff in, I fill the jar halfway with warm water. It appears that this is beneficial.

This is a large flask with a lot of room. When I travel, I use it to keep hot food warm, and it maintains the temperature you set. It's great for hot food and drinks, as well as cold items. You will not be disappointed with your purchase.
I don't think it's appropriate for a 5-year-old child, but I do believe it's appropriate for adults!

This book comes highly recommended. My 9-year-old granddaughter enjoys it so much that she brings it to school with her every day. She takes pastas, soups, and even chicken nuggets to work, and they stay hot until lunchtime. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
Although this is a nice container, my thermos brand outperforms it by several hours for a much lower price. The Hydroflask has a nice wide opening, but due to its size, it loses more heat through the lid. I enjoy Hydroflask products, but this one was not worth the extra cost.
Breakfast items such as poached eggs are ideal for packing. It's so simple in terms of size and shape. The only gripe I have is that the food does not keep warm.
This is a fantastic thermos. My child's school lunch was the perfect size. She keeps her food warm until lunchtime (mac n cheese or noodles), though she does need the teacher's help opening it (she's only 5).
a food portion It's simple to clean and long-lasting.
Worked wonders for making lunchtime at work more enjoyable. It's a lot of fun to look at. This is the second time I've bought this item. Because the original color (olive) was out of stock, I purchased an orange one, which is just as lovely as the olive one. My purchase was a great success.
I had to bring hot soup to work, but it was still warm after 4 hours, but not hot.
So, for a long time, we've been looking for the perfect hot lunch container for our little one to take to school, and nothing seemed to fit the bill in terms of size, heat retention, or shape. I discovered this, but we were hesitant to take the plunge at first due to the high cost; however, out of desperation, we did, and I'm so glad we did. There are a lot of cheap, poorly made Mainland Chinese products on Amazon these days, and even if this is made in China or not, it's one of the better ones. It's an investment, to be sure, but I promise it will pay off; we loved it so much that we bought a second one a week later.
